It's a balmy 30 degrees, no snow in the forecast so we're heading to town tomorrow. The plan is to shop, dinner, and a movie (unless we get tooooo tired) So, anybody see any of the new movies lately?? What's worth seeing?? I'm thinking maybe 'The Aviator', but not sure. I usually only see Tom Hanks movies at the Theatre (yes, I am his biggest fan) :D

I've heard The Aviator is a really good movie. I am going to the movies tonight, but we are taking like 3 kids, so we have to go see Racing Stripes.

I have heard the same thing. And there is a older movie theater here that is playing it right now and they have beer, and pizza and nachos and a lot of food. It is almost like a mini restraunt that plays movies. It only has 2 theaters.

Racing Stripes sounds like fun! I like the idea of Snoop Dogg doing the voice of the bloodhound, but for some reason he just fascinates me anyway.

Have you ever seen the movie he did called "Bones?"

I saw Meet the Fockers last week. I thought it was funny. Streisand is always great. :) My bf thought it was too long though so maybe it's more of a girl movie. He loved Meet the Parents though and his test in movies is unusual. :)

Our theatre also only shows two movies. It was Spanglish or Meet the Fockers. I wanted to see Spanglish but bf did not. Has anyone seen it?

If you guys want a good site for checking out movies, past and present, that's easily searched, try www.imdb.com (Internet Movie Database).

Saje, I'd have gone for Spanglish, too. It's been so long since I've seen a chick flick [sigh]. When I got the flu last year Charley did bring me "The Queen of the Damned" though because he knows I love Anne Rice's books. Not exactly a chick flick, but about as close as I've gotten in years! ;)

The IMDB is one of my fav's. I'm on it everyday I think. Steve and I are always thinking of stuff like: how old is Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow), what year did the simpsons start? and the biggest question - where do I know her from!?

I saw aviator and it was weird but good in a way. It's one of those movies that make you think even though you've already walked out of the movie theater. Im gonna go watch hide and seek today. I'll tell you if this movie is good. I think Lisa Judrow is like 40 something .

We had a great day! Left early AM...shopped, shopped, and shopped some more. I did lots of 'girl' shopping.....bed pillows, table linens, make-up. Then I suffered thru Home Depot and Lowes. We're trying to pick a new tub surround but I don't really like what's out there....may tile it afterall. Then we went to our fave steak & rib place......my idea, I do cave in for a good steak on occasion and Dave pigged out on the ribs. lol When it came to a movie.....Aviator wasn't playing and nothing else sounded like anything we wanted to sit still for. Ended up renting Calendar Girls.......but haven't watched it yet. (I'm surprised Dave went for that one...sounds majorly 'chick' flick to me!) We came home pretty early due to a snowstorm predicted (we didn't take the 4 wheel drive truck) So, no movie to talk about......but a great day all the same. :D

Racing stripes was the cutest movie. We had 7 adults and 8 kids. Everyone loved it. We all laughed throughout the movie, cried sometimes too. I would definately recommend it to everyone.

LOL! I can spend HOURS in Lowes and Home Depot looking at all the lighting, kitchens, baths, some of the power tools, and don't even let me near the garden department! I love bedclothes, too. My idea of decadence would be to have someone change the bed each time I slept in it . . . with silk sheets . . . I think it's safe to say that's NEVER going to happen.

Does Dave realize that the "calendar girls' in the movie are all well over 60? rofl! By the way, did you ever see "The Full Monty?"

I'm so glad to hear you had such a good time! It sounds like it's a good movie - I just love the trailers for it.

Renee...that's the scarey part...Dave DOES know the ages of the ladies in that movie! Guess he thought either it was going to be funny....or it's something I would like. Just watched The Full Monty cause my son-in-law went to Sheffield University....and it was filmed in Sheffield (not sure of that spelling) I thought it was cute...... I forgot about the really horrid other movie we rented...Dennis Quaid, something like 'The Day After' .........GOES BEYOND BAD. We don't have (obviously) a very good video store. I had more fun watching Snow Dogs on TV Sat. night. :D
