Smudge and Cider ran more AAC agility today. It was actually a fanfreakingtastic day. I am beyond thrilled with them. Cider and I had a better than usual but NQ advanced standard run managed a 4th by default.. But then ran a seemingly snarky Master Jumpers course and Q'd. She ran with me, really was high and wanting to play. Really felt the teamwork and bond. Sadly the class was huge, and we missed 4th place by half a second, but that's okay. Our second Master Jumper run was also really fast and we worked well together; I ended up on the wrong side of a tunnel and sent her to the wrong side of a jump so we were eliminated. Tried hard to keep it upbeat as I can loose my positivity at times, roughed her up (she likes to play rough and growly) and we finished the run on a high note.

Smudge got his first Advanced Jumpers Q today and a 1st (and there were actually other dogs in his height class, lol). He worked nicely with me, but he's a mommas's boy and I've come to expect him to be with me.. Sadly our second advanced jumpers run was crazy.. he ducked under the tire, and kept ducking under it.. We did it the wrong direction to end it on a winning note and finished the run.. He was just not his usual self, but that's okay. Was a long day.

This is Cider's first Q this year. I'm thrilled with both of them, but I felt like I'd lost my bond with Cider lately and I wasn't sure I could fix it. She's 2 jumpers Qs from a title now.

All right!!
Go Cockers.

When I was a kid I read a book called Champion Dog, Prince Tom that got me wanting a Cocker really badly. He was amazingly versatile, competing in obedience and hunting, he won championships an OtCH, or whatever the equiv was back then and a national field trial championship in a time when people had stopped hunting cockers.

He looked a lot like your Cider.

here is a linky, take a look at the picture. there is a photo on the back that looks even more like her.

Oh, wait, I found an actual photo:
