I was thinking when should a dog be lifting up his leg to pee? Or when does or will his tail curve up? These are just some of the questions that really are getting on my nerves, but they are no worries if not answer. :)

My male at 2 1/2 years old doesn't lift his leg. On the other hand, my female always lifts her leg. I've hear that some males just don't lift their legs or may do it every so often. Someone else may have input on the tail.

I read somewhere that the lifting of the leg is a learned behavior. So some males don't and some females do. It depends on what dogs they have been around to see do it. I also read that it is generally a marking thing. Like they lift their leg when they mark.

Chip was neutered as pup so still squats like a pup unless marking . My females would lift their legs to mark too. As each dog marking tries to go higher than the last ( macho size thing ) ....it's a riot to watch 3 or 4 dogs marking same place !

Your puppy looks fairly young in your profile but it would help to know how old he is. Kind of like a gsd with their ears and husky and its tail curling all depends on the puppy. I have had pups as young as 9 weeks with curly tails but usually are 12-13 weeks maybe alittle older. Like I said it all depends on the puppy.
