Ahhhh but black and white gets muddy! ;)

I'm getting the feeling that bright green or a nice red are the popular colors...

Also, so far June is the popular month - LATE June, to be friendly to Zoom of course!

Oh and depending on who all is coming and your dogs are, does anyone want to think about sharing a room so as to split the costs?

Good idea Zoom - Sada is staying with me, but I'm not sure how many other out-of-towners are coming. We'll need to see who will be needing a room first!

Hmm I don't know how long of a drive it'd be to come in from IL, but as long as my mom would be up to it I'd love to go :)!

Only thing is Max might not be able to go due to some DA. He's usually good when he's with many dogs in a park setting, but I don't know if I'd be willing to take the chance and put any of you guys at risk. He says he'll be missing the bandana though, :p.

I am assuming that this is going to be a couple day thing? We could maybe hit both dog parks (with the last park being right before "the end" so those driving can have tired dogs for the drive.) I do think the leashed walk is a good idea too, I need my Ronin fix. Sizzle, you may need to chain yourself to Ilsa to ensure you still have her at the end of the weekend. Those of you that THINK you are in love with her now, just wait, it gets worse.

I am pretty sure I would be able to make it in late June. The leashed walk is a good idea because my girl is kind of shy around new people. I am also willing to split hotel costs with someone.

Already thought of that, actually! I ws hoping that we'd find a hotel that allowed dogs to be left crated in the room. That way, not only can we have an offleash romp, but we can also enjoy a nice summer hike through the prairie - ON leash! That way, even the dogs that don't play well with others can have a chance to have some fun and get in on the action!

Corrie - I was thinking it would be a weekend thing - start mid-Saturday and end mid-Sunday. That way we could at least get two lunches and a dinner in before everyone had to leave.

LOCALS - Restaurant ideas? Is anyone coming who is a vegetarian or had dietary resctrictions? Luckily we're all midwesterners, we all should know how to eat a lot of hearty food! :D

hickory park is awsome for a sit down nice meal without being terribly expensive... im tempted to say Red Lobster, but thats a bit pricey haha... Panchero's is really good, Frazolli's(sp) is good... I think there is a good Chinese buffet but i cant remember the name of it... it's by a burger king kind of...

Question though... for those of us who are local enough to drive down on the day of the event and drive home that same night, what are we gonna do with our dogs while we go eat?

Jennifer - I'd say the Ames residents can just take their dogs home - and possibly the semi-locals can borrow a crate at a local's house or apartment. Maybe Georgysmom can house a dog, I'm housing Jack for the weekend but I bet I could swing Maya staying at my apartment just for the dinner, as long as she's quiet.

Yup, not a problem! I'll have an extra room to house some dogs if necessary. I do have cats, but I can shut them in another room if need be.

I'm a big Applebee's fan and also the food at the West Town Pub is pretty good, but the place isn't that big.

Sizzle, We could crate her and leave her a kong or hollow bone filled with peanut butter. I bet she'd be fine.

We'll get it figured out when we get closer to June
