We don't have a tree this year for that very reason. I am fairly certain Gusto would find a way to turn it into The Best Toy Ever.
and then there's Mia with her 'I don't know how that got into the x-pen.... must've fallen off the tree' routine...

No not at all, that would be one of mine as well lol. Though I don't leave balls out now anyway because a certain someone gets totally obsessive. And a small dog could play with a lot of the same stuffies as the big ones, just would have to hold on to edges instead of the whole thing...

Although in my sister's dog's case if there is a tattered normal-sized tennis ball she is good to go. Just grabs the loose edge and hauls it around that way lol. This is the only pic I have of her that sort of shows her size. She's a munchkin.
Mia will play with bigger tennis balls but she can't catch them from the air like she can with the little ones (not that she doesn't try). she's kind of a tennis ball snob, either that or they put some doggy version of crack in the kong squeakers. She will play with kong squeakers of any size but not regular tennis balls with the same intensity. She had a giant kong squeaker that we got for Ada and was having fun ripping that to shreds.

We'll just have to have toys that can stay out all the time and then special tennis ball time with Mia. I really couldn't stop buying her the x-smalls because they are her favorite thing in the world ever. She gets so excited when we play with them.

You sister's dog is very cute!

Mia really is entertaining! And Summer....what a good girl!
Summer offers herself up for a new home without the redneck sister. ;)

Those are the x-small. Mia's so tiny she needs the smallest ones possible. I'd be afraid a bigger dog would swallow one whole.
Oh yeah, if I got one it wouldn't really be for "play", just for the shows. I think I'll get a small & medium sized one and see how he likes them. I'm just afraid he'll be TOO into the ball in the ring and won't be able to sit still LOL.

I love that video, there's what, 15 other balls on the floor, but no, she wants the one that isn't in the tree :p
but that one is the best one!!!! ;)

Ok, I can't help but ask being as I'm an addict and all... what nail polish are you wearing the the treat picture?
Hahaha! I'm an addict too.

this was Nicole by OPI Make a Comet-ment. It was on clearance at target so I bought it. Neat little silver holo polish. My application sucked because I put it on over another color and it totally doesn't need it. It's really dense and extremely rainbow in the light outside. It's really surprised me and it's stayed on really well.

It's super blingy.

My poor nails are so short right now. I keep busting one or two them.

LOL I love little dogs with toy drive... they crack me up!
That's the only kind of little dog to have as far as I'm concerned. ;) She's a load of fun to have around.

Little dog and her tennis ball = serious business (according to Mia)

I agree 100% !! My best friend's mini doxie is high drive, and he rocks! And my long-coat chihuahua would probably beat most Pit Bulls in springpole hanging contests! LOL It's even better because they're fluffy!

Awwww! Nia got tennis balls too but the little brat chewed through the package when we were out 2 days before christmas!! She chewed through the wrapping, and the cardboard/plastic of the box that the balls came in!!! She didn't touch any of the food under the tree though...what a little nutso.

Yayyyy!!! I've been waiting for these photos!! I'm so glad you all enjoyed :)
Haha she MORE than enjoyed them (although she's rolled about half the balls under furniture by now lol). Oh you should have seen her little face... she was soooooo excited.

She's still got the box too, so it's loads of fun to put the balls in and out of.

I have to add, I don't know what it is about the 'energy' treats (I think they're Zukes) but they make Summer go INSANE. I think she's an addict. I pull them out and she starts spinning as fast as she can then flopping onto her side (play dead) repeatedly. It's hilarious but I was accused of giving her crack this past weekend. :lol-sign:
