I am convinced that boys never grow up: their toys just get more expensive. My husband is a master auto technician, so you guessed it, his weakness is vehicles. His Chevy truck has a beautiful custom paint job, sound system, V8 six-liter engine, etc. I've never complained because he's been able to do everything for an insanely cheap price, mainly by doing mechanic work in trade for the equipment.

Well, he called me at work today to tell me "How much do you love me?" He bought a set of 22-inch custom wheels/rims for his truck! Granted, he got them for only $500, which is a steal for the set, but it's still $500! And we have taxes on the house due in January! And just last night, we had a long talk and decided to cut back on extras and pay more towards the house payment!

Why do they have to do stuff like this? GRR!!!

He just called back. We're up to $800! Apparently he also picked up a new front bumper (no clue why he needs one!) and a hard tano cover. Ohhh there's going to be a few words tonight! How much do you wanna bet he's going to come in the door with flowers or something?

LMAO all boys are the same, if they weren't like that I wouldn't want them though. I love that the guy I'm seeing has a hobby that hes soo interested in. I know I'm the same way with the horses. I wouldn't want him to tell me to stop though.

The guy im seeing has suped up his Mustang so much its worth over 4 times what he paid for it now lol But.. I know he'd never sell it lol

I think its cute that he always wants to wash it and work on it lol But, hes also good about keep his bills in order as well.

Luckily, and I guess I mean VERY luckily, my fiance Brandon is into... Animals! Just like me. So, when we are out, we usually always have to make a stop at the pet store and pick up toys, treats, or just browse. They are where our extra money goes.
He just really doesn't care for cars.

From the sound of it, he'd better come in with one or two "or somethings" :D

Charley and I both like the same kinds of toys, lol! Fast cars - of the German persuasion (Porsches and Bimmers and Benzes, oh my) - and LARGE dogs . . . :D

You just figured that out? ;)

Probably because of the very expensive piece of jewlery we are expected to put on your finger to "prove" how much we love you.

    Or....

"At least we spent it on something fun and not freaking SHOES." LOL

You think you guys have it bad... My boyfriends list of hobbies is:

    Juggling
    Poi
    Fire Breathing
    Mountain Biking (built his own)
Keeping fish (though that one has calmed down)
    Magic
DJing (not just a hobby - DJing in a club for the first time in Nov)
Scuba Diving (just got his PADI)

Has also in the past been involved in:

Martial arts (can't remember which one)
    Rugby
Gymnastics!! (he was a uk junior something or other!)

That's all I can remember for now!!

Luckily I manage to distract him a lot of the time! When he gets an interest he HAS to do it 100% all the way. Alot of them are fads which pass, but some will stick forever I think!

I will add that my expensive hobby is (obviously) Ice Hockey. All said, my gear is worth about $3000 US. Add to that $300 in sticks, $100 in tape and $250 or so in gatorade per year... Yeah... It is my addiction.

"Hello, my name is Brian and I am addicted to stopping pucks."

    Just to clarify...

    1. I'm not a shoe shopper.
    2. I'm not really any kind of shopper.
    3. The jewelry on my finger is pretty inexpensive. I like understated jewelry. HE was the one who complained that I needed to pick something more expensive, or else people would think he was cheap/poor.
    4. Hmmm...did someone say duck? I have a horrible weakness for Chinese roast duck. I guess I'm going to have to make some now!

Anyway, I have to admit that I couldn't get as mad at him as I would have liked. He came home last night with his new bumper cover, headlights, wheels and tano cover already on his truck. He looked like a kid who's just seen Santa Claus. It's hard to get mad when they're so happy. *sigh*

Gem, I was just trying to poke fun at the typical sterotypes. I need to start using more emoticons. LOL

Which, BTW, shows my WORST "male" trait......

Ummmmmmm....... What are we talking about???

Oh yeah, I have a bad short term memory for things that do not have to do with sports. Men....

    LOL
