So, for anyone who doesn't know, Meg goes to work with me everyday. I manage a horse farm, and she hangs around the barn with me. It's a big, 100 acre farm that backs up to parkland, so tons of room to run, play, hike, etc.

Well, I was in the barn today and could hear all the horses snorting and spooking outside. A glance out the door told me they were all looking at something up on the hill towards the parkland. We have one mare who is prone to jumping out of her field, and I assumed she had gotten loose again. Imagine my surprise when I walk out the door, and see Meg halfway up the hill, going full tilt at three deer who are bolting for the woods. Meg was a good couple hundred yards from me, and probably 15 feet or so behind the deer.

I let out one whistle, and Meg turned off the deer so fast that she was halfway to me before I had processed the fact that she was now running full tilt at me! I ran to my car, and had the bag of treats out before she got to my side:D. I love my dog! We've worked really hard on her recall, and I knew I could call her off almost anything, but that was definitely the biggest test we've had, and she passed with flying colors!

Isn't it rewarding !!?? I have no idea ( yet! ) how good Ollie would be .... but today when we went out he started bounding after something and the minute I called him he came back . Have no idea what caught his eye , nor would he come if there was something !

WOW!! I really need to practice these guys' recall....it's gotten pretty sloppy lately because we're on leashes all the time.
