She's beautiful!

I know what you're saying about taking some time to get used to running a dog like that.... I've gone from little Zozo who's fast for her size, but slowish, to Psyche who's gonna give me a run for my money. We're really working on 'out!'

I hope things work out, please do keep us updated. Are you going to name her Maybe if it works out, or do you have another name picked?

Oh, definitely not Maybe. Mostly because "May" and Meg are too similar. Of course, I've got everyone around me referring to her as that right now.

Her name is currently Jazmine, which I'm not very fond of. She does respond to Jazz, so that may be it, although I'm trying to think of something else I like. All the BC names I came up with were for males because that was the plan.

I agree with Jen and Decka.

I would put my money on pure BC. I mean obviously if you love her who cares but fun to think about!

And regarding learning to run her in agility... OMG yes. I went from an old fart of a dog (Tucker) to the canine equivalent of a porsche. I am still trying to get the hang of it, it is so hard!

Sending 'nice' vibes to Meg, goodluck!

Oh, and yeah. My money is on pure BC. Ignore markings/coat and look at the body shape and the eyes... Totally BC.

You don't necessarily have to run fast, just get good distance skills. Have a friend that runs a BC, she doesn't really run, she tells him the obstacles and right and left, and he's got at least a solid 12 pole weave entrance perfect start to finish that he can nail 30 feet away. LOL

I kept thinking she looked like Eve's scruffy dirty sister as well;).

I think it's going to be less about the ability to run fast (because lets be honest, I'm never going to be that fast) and more just handling skills that I've never had to develop with my very generous Meg. Watching the border collies in my class, I think distance is the least of the issues - it's actually getting them to handle close when you need them to. That and getting cues out fast and clear enough. I refuse to be that person who is out on course with the confused, frustrated border collie spinning and barking and biting because I can't handle it correctly - even if it means we train for three years before we compete.

Jazz is beautiful! She and Meg would make the cutest pair... I hope everything works out. :)

My only advice is to give them both time, and integrate Jazz into your life very, very slowly, and make having her around very, very positive for Meg.

She's lovely. I hope it all works out for you, Meg and Maybe Jazz. You can make it so all the good things in life happen for Meg in the presence of Jazz; food, treats, affection, toys, games etc...and it's more boring when Jazz isn't around. You can even purposely bring them together, then apart alternately for short intervals....back and forth....a little each day. If Meg tolerates her now, I bet she'll grow to love having her around later. Good luck. Hope you get to keep her.

If she doesn't work out I'll fly my butt out there and take her LOL... no but seriously though I really hope this works out for you. She is stunning!!!! As much as I REALLY REALLY want a Doberman, I have a feeling that when I do decide to get a second dog, I'm going to end up with another border collie. I have a serious love for them... not that Bamm had anything to do with that... ok.... maybe a little ;)

She looks pure to me. She is an absolute stunner. I am sure that if Meg does not like her at first she will mellow in time.
I had to co-ordinate 3 dogs when I got Ben and they now get on wonderfully!
