I am picturing Mary and Traveler having a tea party---two old girls who would have appreciated each other here on earth. Cheers to them--may they run, romp, eat and play with abandon now.

Oh, smkie...I'm so sorry for your loss. Mary is a lucky girl, to leave this world surrounded by people who love her so much.

I'm sniffling and crying reading through this, and I've never even met her. That says a lot about how special she was.

You did a very brave and selfless thing for your baby girl. I am so glad that her last day was happy and peaceful, surrounded by the people she loved the most.

Drlittle her ears wear silver. I had not seen that quite that way and Aaron's girl said the same thing a few hours later ..the same way.

Victor is very clingy. I don't know if it is due to the emotions here or if he really understands. BOth dogs were very good. One bark at the vet and not a sound afterwards. Not a whine to come out, no romping, it was very quiet and I appriciate that there were no distractions. SHe went easy with all hands touching her and that was what i wanted.

AAron wants me to make a stone for her so I will. He said she deserves one.

Sounds like a perfect end for a perfect girl, smkie. I'm so glad that you could give her this last happy day with her favorite people and favorite things. *lots of hugs*

Oh, Smkie, I'm so sorry. I just now got the chance to post in the thread but y'all have all been in my thoughts all day. I know this wasn't easy, but as everyone else has said you did right by her and if every other dog in the world knew just one ounce of the love Mary did it would be a great thing. Always have peace knowing that she will never be gone, and one day down the road she be there to give you lots of kisses. ((hugs))

SHe has tea roses. I have been putting them in a couple at a time. THe grocery store would knock them down when they stopped blooming and i scooped them up and hurried them home. i knew the spot and have planned for this, Mary loves her yard so. ONe is yellow and quite pale and smells the best of any rose i have seen. One is a rich yellow with a red edge .One so majenta it is almost purple and one a pale peach and quite large. I will keep adding them in the spring. Tea roses grow well there, It is the right place, nice and sunny with late afternoon shade. By the iris that Jim and I have moved with me.

SHe likes to drink out of the hose and always came as soon as I started. Don't know why hose water pleased it but it did. All water pleased her.

THank you mods for this thread being stickied...(((((HUGS))))))

Bax if I know Mary right she and Bronki have picked up Traveler and are already feet deep in some cool clear water in a quiet sunny spot. HOpe LabDad and Jim are there as well.

I know what your going through.
I lost a dog, and found out today that he's passed at Rainbow Bridge.
It's an extremely hard time and came as surprise to us.

*Hugs*
Maybe Mary and Pete will meet during their stay at the bridge~ they can eat Peanut Butter & Whipped Cream
