Smkie and Mary,
I am so sorry and my heart breaks for both of you. Smkie, you and Mary have been blessed to have each other and for so long. Too few people in this world truly know the love between someone and their animal, like you have had with Mary and she with you.
I'll be thinking of you both..........

Go quietly into that Good Night, Mary. Go with the knowledge that you are loved and have touched the lives of more people than you could ever hope to know. Go with the knowledge that you leaving behind a lifetime of love and acceptance behind you and going to meet all the loved ones who have passed before you. Go knowing you will be missed more than you could imagine and that your memory will live on long beyond your passing, in pictures, words, memories and the feelings in our hearts. Go to where the fields are green with summer, the streams are tinged with the leaves and coolness of fall and you are in the Springtime of your years. Go gently and with peace.

My son and his girl Rachael came and had a nice visit with her tonight. She was so happy to see them both. I gave them some freeze dried meat and they gave her the treats and loved on her. WHen i was talking to my Mom on the phone i looked down and Mary's ear just looked like silver. I Told Mom i was going to miss Mary's ears so. WHen Rachael was petting her she said the same exact thing. "Mary, your ears are silver". They really do look like it.
My son is coming tomorrow. I hope he comes early.

What a wonderful tribute to a really, truly special dog... it's obvious why you love her so much!
Mary is also so lucky to have you, Smkie, and all of the people that love her. ;( It's so sad and hard, but she has the lived the fullest of lives and the kindest thing you can do now is free her soul from her painful body.

Mary has had a long wonderful like with you, you hv done a wonderful job ith her. You are doing the best for her, even tough I know it kills you. I hope she has a easy and safe trip over the ridge today, and her last day is flled with all the fun her joints can handle, all the treats her stomache can have and all the love her big heart deserves.
