If you have no issues with mineral make-up, then it's fine. But most of the "all natural" mineral make-ups have Bismuth Oxychloride in them. And it actually isn't natural, since it's by-product of copper and lead refining mixed with chlorine and water. It causes a lot of irritation for most people, from itching to burning to break outs. And as it turns out, the make-up itself isn't all that great for you. At least no more than any other foundation or make-up.

I like Laura Mercier (it's a dept store brand).
Right one I generally use the tinted moisturizer (sometimes with the primer underneath), but I also like her mineral makeup for coverage. I like MMU but I always seem to get it all over the bathroom, which is annoying.
I l-o-v-e by Terry but it's crazy expensive so I splurge on other products in her line.

Try a liquid foundation to cover then powder to set it. That will give you the heaviest coverage. I use BB cream from Korea which is amazing because it has anti aging, SPF, and skin clearing properties as well as providing awesome coverage. There are a couple of brands trying to do BB cream in the US, it's easiest to find the Garnier one at drug stores but there are also high-end brands trying too. The Korean ones are the best though.

I don't use a primer either, though I have in the past (via free samples I get from Sephora.) I know a lot of people swear a good primer is the start of a well made-up face. I use a primer for my eye makeup but not my foundation... mostly because I just don't want that one extra step in the morning. It's a miracle I moisturize haha.
You might want to try just straight up milk of magnesia...

If you have oily skin, maybe try the Revlon ColorStay for combo/oily skin? I used it for a while (for normal/dry) and I liked the coverage, but it felt thick and sticky... I'm sure that's why it had good coverage. It just took a bit of time and effort to blend it nicely. At the time I was still using a makeup brush too, and a LOT of product seemed to be left on my brush, which always sucks. I haven't tried it since I quit using a brush for my foundation, not sure if it would go on better/easier with a sponge or even just your fingers. Their Photo Ready is also pretty popular AND it has a pump which people are nuts about. I believe it's thinner than the ColorStay... I may still try that one some day.

I use Bare Escentuals/Bare Minerals & Smashbox. I love them both the same.
Smashbox has a BB Creme I want desperately to try, but it's sold out. I think it's like a primer/moisturizer/all-in-one type of thing. Generally, though, I use SB primer & their tinted moisturizer for everyday wear. I rarely do full makeup anymore, but when I do it's been SB primer, concealer, foundation & powder. SB also gives away free things on Tuesday & Thursday with orders, shipping is always free & you get free things for your birthday too.
If you have an Ulta or a Sephora near you, they should be able to color match you, and recommend products based on your skin tone, no matter what the brand.

I LOVE Avéne! I used their whole line for oily skin that breaks out easily. My skin was horrible and now after using the stuff for about 3 months I have pretty clear skin with maybe a tiny breakout around that time of the month.

I really like it, except I should have gotten fair instead of light. The foundation was way too dark for me in winter. It should be fine for summer though. I really like the concealer and primer. However, I may go to MAC next time. I am pretty much a die hard MAC girl for makeup. Especially eye liner (fluidline) and shadow. I love the paintpots, I got one to try and its a great neutral eye shadow or highlighter. I just use my fingers to apply it.

This!^ It is by far my favorite, I have combination skin and this is the only thing that is good for all of my face. It has great coverage, blends well and feels super light. I tried to go back to my old liquid brand after using it and I ended up tossing the bottle out because it felt gross after using the mousse.
