:(

I took Fez into the vet today because he hasn't seemed to be feeling well the past few days, not eating well, vomiting, and has been a bit shaky and lethargic.

We did bloodwork and well, he's in complete renal failure. :( The prognosis isn't very good. Vet is leaning towards it being protein-losing neuropathy which is an inherited disease in Wheatens and Goldens (which I think he is a mix of). Or possibly something like a mass in his kidneys. But, their CBC machine wasn't working, and there are still some other things that need to be ruled out, like lyme and lepto, so we are going to test for those things early next week. I'm not sure how this week is going to go, really hoping it is something like lepto that we might be able to treat and manage.

So, major vibes for the fuzzy guy? He is only 7ish, really too young for him to be going through this :(.

Fez ate this morning and seems... "ok". Still shakey, but no more vomit.

I'm sort of in crisis mode right now, Romeo is really sick too. Spent all last night at the emergency vet, but his blood looks fine. Took xrays, vet said they looked ok except he has a lot of gas, he swallowed too much air . Cough BS. After they did fluids and gave him anti-nausea meds, he walked out the door and promptly vomited everywhere. He is not good today, alternating panting and drooling and looks terrible. I'm bringing him to a different vet and probably will end up having him ultrasounded. :( Need some really good vibes, please, this has been a terrible weekend.

Man, it never rains, but it pours...

Sending all sorts of vibes for your pups and hugs to you! I guess the blood work ruled out any kind of environmental cause - poisonous plants, toxins, spider bites, etc? Seems odd to have two dogs similarly ill at the same time.

Oh dear...I'm so sorry. I do hope it's something treatable. I send you my most positive thoughts and hopes your way. He's just an adorable looking dog and he is too young to be going through this. My heart goes out to you guys.

Romeo is going into surgery very soon, around 8pm, for a possible obstruction/exploratory surgery. He is very sick :(. Please keep him in your thoughts :(.
