Ok, everytime I feed Whisper over a cup of puppy food, (Blue Buffalo) I feed her twice a day since she does this. She poops loose stool. And I can't feed her any more than twice a day, two small meals each time, and she still isn't gaining much weight, but I am feeding her. Everyday. Twice a day. Labs as pups seem to have more complications with their digestive systems. Cause Hershey had this same problem when he was a baby. But I am wondering if I should go back to Authority? Or what should I do? Well, thank you for reading!

Has she been wormed? Most puppies have worms, which could cause both the stool and the weight problem.

Is there a reason you arent feeding 3 times a day? Puppies, especially VERY active breeds like labs, IMO should be fed three times a day. The diarrhea could be caused by a number of different things, stress, eating grass or other objects which puppies are so famous for, irregular feeding or activity. I don't think you'll need to really worry about it unless it continues for over a week or becomes extremely volatile diarrhea.

Sometimes, puppies just have through a "runny" time - the onyl thing I've found to work is to temporarily switch over to.. I know... gross... Pro Plan Puppy.

There's something about it that seems to sothe puppy tummies. Most breeders I know use Pro Plan Puppy for the exact same reason.

The runny stools may just be a puppy thing (Darby has them) but I'd be a little concerned about the lack of weight gain, if indeed Whisper is lagging behind in that area. Can you take a stool sample to the vet for a look-see just to be sure?

I could try to take a stool sample to them. But, it looks better, I'm going to give it another week, and see if she gains weight. And if she doesn't, I'll tell my mom, that she needs to go to the vet. I'm going to try, and feed her in the morning, afternoon, and evening. But normally after I take her out, I go back to bed. Cause her scedule is 7:30, whenever I get up next, and then, multiple times throughout the day. Which is fine, as long as she doesn't use her crate, or house. But, I'll try feeding her 3 times a day, and kibble for treats. ;) Labs will do anything for food. lol But, I'll watch her real close for the next few days, I'll give it 3 days.

Change your schedule and feed the pup three times a day. Loose stools are often caused by over feeding and that doesn't mean the total food given in a day but the food given per meal. If she gets it every time you feed her more her system needs less food more times a day.

very true, I have been feeding two separate meals, alright, 3 meals it is, maybe even 4. so she doesn't get all balloonish after her meals. Cause I fixed that problem. ;) Just feed less each meal. More meals a day, gotcha!

King has had loose stools over half the time from day one. When he doesn't I wonder why. Different food, different treats, etc, don't change anything, and tests at the vet show nothing wrong. All his stool samples come back clean, and blood work is literally "perfect". After spending a lot of money, the vet said, "look, he's obviously feeling ok, his tests are perfect, so I would just ignore it, unless it gets worse!" Funny thing is, lately, he's been ok since I stopped worrying about it.

If Molly has them, something is up, as her's are normally solid as a rock, and three times the size(Diameter) of King's.
