Loose dog.

This one loose dog is driving me up the wall. We first saw him in our yard a few weeks ago, mainly I'm guessing because Mitsu was in heat, since then we have seen him at least a dozen times in our yard. I can't wait to get it fully fenced.

It's a rude fat dog as well. Tyler will chase it out of yard and he will either start growling at Tyler when he goes outside or he will run away and just bark and bark at Tyler.

And I'm so worried about taking the dogs outside just incase he is outside our house lurking. Mitsu is already having freak outs when she sees him out the window in our yard. I'm hoping we find where he lives so we can knock on the owners door and give them a nice talking too. We have an idea where he lives, but not 100% sure yet.

Gah, I loath loose dogs, especially whe it happens more than once with the same dog.

Is there a way to catch him? I'd do that, then start knocking on doors and return the dog to the owner. That usually gives them a hint.

I saw a sign once at the post office, it was a picture of a dog. It said 'hey, Romeo's owners, I am taking Romeo to 'jail' if he comes bugging my Juliet again, keep him home please!'

You could snap some pictures of the offending dog and post it around the area asking for the owner's name and number too....

We had our share of loose dogs here but lately it's been pretty good, I started catching loose dogs and then looking for the owners instead of letting them wander home and that seems to have changed attitudes a bit.

A note in the collar perhaps? We had a cat years ago who managed to get out every chance he had. One day he came home with a note taped in his collar that basically said We're happy to give Julius dinner from time to time but he teases our dog. We started working harder keeping him in and actually got friendly with the neighbor.

Is there a leash law in your area? That would tick me off too if there is. Where I use to live in Idaho, there was no leash law and I just had to put up. But here there is. What I get here is loose cats. That pisses me off. Why is it against the "rules" to let dogs wander but it's perfectly fine and we must tolerate cats pooping in our gardens and getting our dogs stirred up? I garden and if I come across cat poop when I'm digging around in there, I'm really going to be livid. I hope you find out whose dog it is and if it happens again, see if you can call the authorities. It's just not fair that you have to be menaced by a strange dog and one that isn't seeming to be of a very good temperament to boot.

The dog sat down and stared at me after a few hundred yards LOL Hopefully you'll have better luck!

Ugh. Most of the dogs that get loose in our neighborhood are legitimate accidents, and all of those dogs are friendly and mind their own business. (There is one in particular that just keeps to the sidewalk and takes herself on their normal leash-walk route when she slips out of her house. I still don't agree with it, but it is kinda funny, and like I said, she minds her own business.)

There is one little dog, though, that came into my front yard while I was working outside one day, and proceeded to harass me and Morgan (who was out with me on a tie-out at the time). Literally tried to bully us out of our own yard. If I even looked like I might approach it, it went into a snarling, screaming hissy fit. I took Morgan inside and ignored the jerk dog while I continued to work, and this dog still persisted to harass me regardless. I finally had no other option but to get a broom and chase it off my property, all while shouting at it. Not my proudest moment by any stretch, but I sure as heck wasn't going to have that rude little thing in my yard anymore.

I wish I'd had the number to AC handy, but that little thing had me so irritated that it honestly didn't occur to me until I'd chased it off.

Lucky for it, I haven't seen that dog since.
