I would not have chosen to do back to back heats, but that was the requirement of the re-breed option. I have been told by experienced breeder mentors, my reg vet and the repo specialist that did the surgical AI, that it is fine. Actually the repo vet said it is easier on the bitch to do back to back as her body is "prepared" to be pregnant, than it is to wait a year or more in between. Believe me, I did have my reservations. That's why I asked all the questions before preceeding with the re-breed.

CONGRATS and good luck!!

Grammy a healthy Rottweiler bitch will not blink an eye being rebred after a singleton litter.

Congrats!!!! I actually was given some good information years ago that explained that the best and healthiest way to breed a bitch is back to back, then skip... I did this once and my girl did very well. I cannot for the life of me remember the source now! Other than my Vet and a breeder who also was a Vet... They sent me the links with the information written by a specialist, but that was many years ago.

CONGRATS ON PUPPIES!
ive never seen a rottie with a tail before! he looks mighty handsome!

I cant wait to hear how many, and of course see puppy pictures

*cough*puppycam*cough*

and it would be great if you could record her progress (weight gain, attitude change, ultrasounds..) i love seeing those kinds of things, so much to learn!

I do hope you'll post about Clutch and his Schutzhund journey, I don't think there are a lot of Schutzhund fans here but there is at least one!!!!!!!!

Filly, I'm having that problem too, with the pictures. If you right click on the red X and click of refresh or show picture it will come up, but you have to do each one individually.

Also, I am super excited for the home we got for Clutch. The owner has 15+ years of Schutzhund experience and has already join a club and has taken him there. The owners are within 5 min. of my house, having relocated to this area only 2 years ago. So I will get to see his progress first hand. With this owner's knowledge and experience I also have an opportunity to learn as well.
