Is that color normal? I walk around and see other dogs poop and they're all dark blackish color. The owners really should pick up the poop, but i'm glad some didnt so i can compare! haha.

Kimbers poops was soft serve a week ago but after a little bit of pumkpin they're getting a little harder. But the color is really light and bright. I'm feeding Evo. She rarely eats everything i give her.

I think (I'm not 100% sure on it though), that means something is wrong with her liver. I would get her to the vet ASAP!!!!

not sure if it's coccidia... they dont list the color of the stool as a symptom.

sounds like it could be giardia??

I sure hope it's not a liver problem. I'll take her in on thursday!

makenzie71, She only eats Evo and sometimes i give her some treats, not very often though. 2 or 3 pieces maybe twice a week.

I've given her pig slivers, but her poop was the same color before. I only gave her raw meat on a bone once.

so is this a change?
I forgot to mention, i took this dog in when the owner couldnt take care of it any longer. I've only had it for 3-4 weeks. I cant remember what color who poop was before. It was always at night and i didnt bother looking. Just picked it up and tossed it.

might just be what you are feeding it. My dogs have a really dark poop but my sister's dogs have a light tan colored poop but she feeds them a different food. I had one poop out green color one time and just figured that she ate something strange. I don't know about it meaning liver problems or anything like that. I usually don't worry about poop unless it is runny.

Check with your vet to be on the safe side, but i agree with carlar, it could just be the type of food.
Here is how our boys went with switching from biscuit & tins (what the rescue centre fed) = really dark poop to kibble = light & squishy poop which is what we fed before raw = dark and firm poop.

When we first got our dog, he was on Purina, and his poop was a light brown color. When we switched to Evo, it got much darker.

If you just got this dog, a vet check is probably a good idea though.
