Why did you name your kid/s their names? I love unique names! Haven't met a Cardyn or Park yet!!

Was your baby born on time, or was he/she born a little late or a little early? Cardyn was a whole month early, Park was a few days late

Are you happy with how many kids you have now, or do you want more? I have a girl and a boy PERFECT!!

My story about induction goes like this.

HUGE and over due by a week. So I go in for the pitocin drip. Drip drip drip for 12ish hours. A few minor contractions but nothing much. They sent me home. (I was so upset) Doctors said give it a few days (I think 3) if not we will manually induce.

3 days later I was manually induced. This involves putting a catheter 'up there' into the cervix and inflating it a little. They then sent me home and said don't come back till you pass the catheter. Contractions started right away so I was back in a few hours.

I was in hard labour for hours and hours. Here is a hint to those of you who haven't done that yet. Don't be polite, don't not yell for fear of uppsetting people. I had women who came in after me and got sections before me, because I was 'holding up well' (and of course as Darien wasn't in distress) I had a few changes of nurses.. each new nurse would check for his heart beat down low, I would say "the last nurse found it up here" They would humour me and then low and behold it was up there. They would check to make sure he wasn't breach and all would continue.

23.5 hours of fairly serious labour. He never once engaged with the exit. Section all the way.

(don't worry I left out the worst parts like the guy doing the spinal missing repeatedly, or them not being able to find a vein... or ending up with an infected incision... still it beat pregnancy)

I love hearing yalls stories. Keep em coming :D

  4. I'll throw my birthing story out there...

Jon had come home on R&R and we were doing all the things that a soldier who's been gone 9 months and his wife do in a hotel room completely alone.
The night before I went in for an amnio to see if I could be induced the next day we did those things in the shower, I guess my water broke in there and neither of us realized. Four hours later we dragged our buts out of bed to go to the doctor and do the amnio.
Doc looked for half an hour, couldn't find a water pocket big enough to do it and said "Check the actual water level."
Five minutes later my nurse (Debbie) came back and told me "Better get comfortable... Doc says you're staying."
Doc comes in all kinds of upset and says "So, I can't stay and deliver, I'm just getting off 24 hour call and they won't let me. The way you're going though, I'm pretty sure you'll be ready to push about the time I get back in the morning." Introduced the supervising doctor who was really nice and really cool. I sent Jon back to get everything out of the hotel room while they broke my water (which... there was NOTHING there to break, just a little blood came out) and the nurse said "Yup, you broke it last night while ya'll were messing around," and laughed.
Started the pitocin drip, everything went well until about a half an hour before she was locked and loaded, no epidural none of that junk, I was doing my breathing and humming exercises and being snarky and yelling at Jon to get the EFFING ICE THE HELLO OUT OF MY GD FACE BEFORE I KILLED HIM.
Half an hour before she was L&L I started to have seizures with each contraction, my nurse and the attending physician said it was because of the pain from my L4 and L5 grinding together (they are crumbling from falling out of an LMTV while I was in the Army) and gave me two options - Try and epidural, or have a C section.
Frankly I was willing to do anything to avoid a C section so I went with the epidural, so we did it, the anesthesiologist was very careful with my back where its screwed and all went well there. The seizures stopped and half an hour later the nurse came in to check me, Winnie was locked and loaded so they got everything prepped and ready to go. I pushed for four minutes and Miss Thang came screeching into the world at 7:27 PM (I went into the hospital at 6:00 AM, they induced at noon, my OB was pretty bummed that he didn't get to call out "ITS A GIRL!" because we didn't find out what she was and he was really excited to find out... my ultrasound tech was the only one that knew because in Dr. C's words "I don't wanna know... I'll spill the beans!!!"). Meanwhile as they were setting up the stirrups and whatnot, Jon posted on Facebook something along the lines of "Time to push!!!" Which I nearly killed him for "GET THE EFF OF FACEBOOK WHAT THE EFF ARE YOU DOING????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????????"
Winnie was 6 LBS 11 OZ 19 inches long and full of hair (which she seriously lost within a month of being born!!! :( )
I had a lot of problems breast feeding, I yelled at the lactation nurse because she was such a bitch - she told me I obviously "Didn't want to breast feed" and there was "Obviously something wrong with ME that I couldn't get it right." and that "The football hold was the ONLY way it was going to work." FYI my cousin came down (had her baby five months before) the day after I got out of the hospital and had Winnie BFing like a champ in the position I was comfortable with.
Other than the lactation specialist and the seizures, I had a fabulous birthing experience and I would go back to that hospital with Dr. C if ever we did have another baby and he knows it. :)

So according to my period calculator thing I'm now 35 days late (though that number flucuates since I have odd cycles). Taken 4 preggo tests within the past three weeks and all ate negative. Prob just a really really late period. I might not have ovulated this past month? All I know is its frustrating not knowing what is going on. I'm switching health insurance companies so as soon as that goes into affect (in march) I'm going to set up a Dr appointment and also get a blood test if I haven't started by then.

For those of us that don't have kids:
Do you have names picked out? If so, what are they?

I've always liked Isabel Rose and Arwin Joseph - both are a combination of grandparent's names from my family and R's.
Other names I like are Delaney, Addison, Flint, Kaiden

Boy or Girl? Either! I'd hope to have a girl first though. Or girl/boy twins. I'd like at least three. If I was going to have kids at all, I'd want more than two. I love large families (I come from a family of 6) and love the relationships I have with my siblings.

Preferred month for having said baby? Doesn't matter to me :) I'm not even considering having kid(s) until my late 20's, early 30's. (which sounded a lot further away until I realized that that's only 5 years away!)

My cousin, Emilee, was 3lbs 9oz :D She was born 2 weeks early. At nearly 7 months she weighs 11-12 pounds (which is the same weight as her 2 month old cousin, LOL).

My brother and I (fraternal twins) were born 2 months early. Due December 4, born October 2. I was 3 pounds 3 oz and my brother was 2 pounds 15 oz and we were the size of dad's hand. I always looked gigantic next to him as a baby, they said he looked like a dying old man, he was skin and bones. But we both are exactly the same height and weight today (it's weird).

I had to stop reading after page 6 because I was getting MAJOR baby fever :(

I definitely want kids. If I can't have them, I'll adopt if possible. May even adopt anyway (have my own + adopt).

Yes, I have names picked out but of course whoever my husband is will have to approve LOL!

Girl: Ryan Rebecca (Have always loved the name Ryan, and I think it's cute for a girl or boy, and Rebecca is my sister's name)
Rylie Victoria (Love the name Rylie and my mom's name is Vicki so Victoria would be after my mom even though it's not her actual full name)

Also love the names Jenna, Charlotte, Bella, Ali/Ally, Lucy, Jayde

Boy: Ryan Brendon (my two favorite band members from Panic at the Disco, one of the first bands that inspired me to be a musician)
Jacob Edward (twilight of course ;))

Also like Parker, Tristan, Eric (My brother's name), Jayden, Jayson

I hope I have a baby in the fall because it's my favorite season, and I was born in the fall.

Also, I hope I have a girl first but I'll be super happy either way. :)

    Hahahaha.

My friend's Ob/Gyn was Dr. Payne. I declined seeing him. Lol

My third doc, who delivered Cooper, is a freaking hottie. If I had known he was gorgeous enough to make me forget why I was there and just stare at him looking like an idiot, I would've passed on him too.
