Leaving my Kitty for a week

Does anyone have any advice on what to do when you have to leave your pet for a while?

I'm going out of town for over a week. My boyfriend and our dog will still be at the house so Kitty will not be alone, but boyfriend doesn't really like the cat all the much and I know he won't give her any loving' while I'm gone.

I usually come home to a very upset cat who has peed/pooped in every basket in the house (laundry, toy, etc).

Is there anything I can do to make her not get so upset for leaving her (aside from not leaving in the first place that is!)?

Not really...lol... cats just have a certain attitude and dont like to be left.

What I did was get a few new toys and each day the pet sitter came, she gave her a new toy and a few treats. Maybe you could buy a few toys and have your boyfriend put a new one out each day, or every other day.
