Layla still hasn't gone into heat

While I do plan to have her spayed eventually I am just curious if anyone else has had a "late bloomer". She is now going on ten months of age. She is perfectly healthy at this point, no concerns although she is a bit on the small side for a boxer. She weighs about 44lbs, not sure how tall she is but she seems pretty shrimpy compared to other boxers I know of. Any ideas?

Bella didn't go into heat until a couple weeks ago and she was 9-10 months old. I've heard of some dogs not coming into their first heat until after a year... if she's healthy and fine otherwise, I wouldn't worry, especially if she is going to be spayed.

Dekka was past her first birthday before she had a heat. Zo was 10 months.

Teeny is almost 10 months and hasn't gone into heat yet (though we're wondering if she's showing early signs of it right now). I've heard of some dogs (APBTS) who didn't go into heat until 18 months!

Don't panic and enjoy your blood free time. LOL!

Good to hear she is not the only one! I just am so used to commonly hearing they go in around six months. Oh yes, we are very much happy that we don't have to deal with the messiness of it all yet! Thanks for the responses.

One girl that I had, didn't come into heat for the first time until she was 22 months old. Her dam, had her first heat at 18 months and grandma's first heat was a 13 months. That line, although they take their time coming in, after that they are pretty regular at or around 6 months.
