the breed at Crufts. I can't remember his name now, but he's an American dog. Cool, huh?

ETA- oh his name is "... Ears To You".

Oh I know that dog! He won our national BISS too. Very unusual for an American bred Phalene to be so successful. He's an awesome dog.

Phalene BOB at Crufts

The "American" bred Phalene that won BOB at Crufts on March 13/10 is not American bred! This beautiful dog was bred in Canada by Arkeno Papillons...and he is proudly
MULTI BISS BIS CANADIAN/AMERICAN CH. Arkeno's Ears to You.
National Specialty and all breed Best in show winner in both Canada and the United States.
He is co-owned by his Canadian breeders and American co-owners.

Just setting things straight...thanks :)

Ok random much?

Canadian or American it is still very unusual to have a top winning phalene bred on this side of the ocean, which is what I meant.

"Random much"?

My comments were definitely not random or haphazard, nor were they worded as such.

What you said and what you meant have two totally different meanings.
"Very unusual for an American bred Phalene" in comparison to "bred on this side of the ocean which is what I meant".

Perhaps you should have said North American bred. That way all 23 countries that make up North America, including the United States, could be considered in "this side of the ocean".

Regardless of country of breeding, any dog that is a beautiful representation of the breed, deserves recognition...and Cobb has certainly done his breeders and co-owners proud with his many wins for a Phalene.

Not really into the look of the Phalene still for the ear set of most papillions.

and dude, relax we dont care that much about the exact country just that it is odd for a american/canadian phalene to get that placement at crufts.

Cobb

Cobb is a very, very nice boy. He has made breed history, as he is the first Phalene to win an AKC Best In Show. Yes, he is from Canada, from a very nice kennel that has been in paps for a while. He has multiple co owners in the US. He has already sire some lovely pups, Phalenes included. He definately is an eye catcher. :)

There are 23 countries in North America? Are you counting Central America in there? Oh, you must be.

No matter where Cobb was bred, he is absolutely beautiful, and I hope he will be as successful a sire as he is a show dog.
