It's officially been a week since I brought the kitties home!

Before you start asking, I did take pictures this morning... and for some reason my computer's rejecting my xD card. I'm still working on it. :(

They went to the vet on Wednesday and all checked out fine.:thumbsupsmileyanim: They gave me some dewormer, and eye drops for conjunctivitis which seems to have cleared up already.

Their litter box training is going well, they graduated from a cookie sheet to a *real* litter box yesterday. :) I got the shortest one I could get and they still have a little trouble clambering into it, but they're managing well and have hardly had any accidents in the last few days. So today they also graduated from living in the closet to living in the whole bathroom! They also learned how to climb up the baby gate, so keeping them in there has been a little challenge, but so far no one's escaped. Of course they each get to come out for cuddle time every day.

They also had their last meal with formula yesterday, moved on to straight canned kitten food now. I think I'll also cut down from 4 meals a day to 3 meals, they haven't been eating much on a couple of meals so I think they'll be fine. I guess next week I'll start introducing dry food and see how they handle that.

They've each had a successful bath. :) How often do you think I could bathe them? The shampoo is very gentle and their skin and coats seem to be in good condition. I was thinking once or twice a week, is that too much? Mostly because they're still quite messy with their meals, and I do want to get them used to baths while they're still young.

I have clipped 8 nails so far. :D They're getting sharper every day so it's my priority for this weekend to get them all clipped. I gave them a scratcher today and kind of put them on it but they didn't seem at all interested.... maybe they're not really ready for that yet.

My cat seems to be accepting them a little better every day. She's still doing a lot of growling but I'm confident she wouldn't hurt them. Of course I'm not letting them annoy her, either.

Luna pretends like they don't exist.

I guess that's about all. I'm going to the store to buy them some toys tomorrow; I have a few toys but my cat has never been interested so I don't have many. I think I'm going to put an ad up on petfinder next week to try to find them homes. I want to keep them until they're about 8 weeks old, but I also want to get them spayed/neutered and microchipped before they go to their new homes (I don't trust people with cats!). Do you think 8 weeks is too young to spay/neuter?

Get a box of baby wipes that will help with the messy faces.

I think it's to young But A lot of shelters do it that age & the cat's are fine. It's up to you.

awwww I'm just reading this:)) So good of you to take them in.

I have raised a few litters of ferals, (and flunk cause I ended up keeping 2 out of two different batches!) You are doing a great job!

I also kept mine in a big dog crate in a bathroom at nite, letting them loose in the bathroom during the day..unfortunately the baby gate thing, didn't work to well, they climbed right over it !!

I have 5 cats right now,, all rescues here are the latest two sista's,,Ree Ree and Rae Rae

I say, keep em all !!! they really aren't that much trouble:)

Oh no no! I'm already thinking about getting a puppy in the next year or so.... so that'd be 4 cats and 2 dogs. I'd be WAAAAY outnumbered!

I am probably going to keep one, the orange one. He's the calmest and most cuddly, seemed to get attached to me really quickly while the other two are still really independent.

The best-ever kitten toy was Sid the Squid, a little plush ball with eight enticing leather strips dangling from it. It was the perfect size for kitten mouths to carry, and those strips? Irresistible! Used to have Sids in every color. Of course, they don't make them any more.
