Kidney Problems

Sonja has kidney problems!!!

She is at the vet's right now getting some lumps removed and checked to see if they are benign or not. Then I get a call from the vet just before her scheduled surgery saying that her urine and blood work showed a failing kidney.

Does anybody here have to deal with this sort of thing? Any diet suggestions, lifestyle changes that needed to be done?

I just got the call back from the vet and her lumps are NOT cancerous!!!!

Her surgery went very well with no complications at all. I could hear the poor girl crying in the background. They said that she was missing me a lot when I left her there in the morning. But she is already walking around and she went out for a short walk with the staff. They said she is a very well-behaved and loving big girl!!

The vet will be getting her bloodwork results tomorrow, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it won't be too bad regarding her kidneys.

I am afraid of kidney problems myself. FIngers cross she does not have to deal with this.
