How does this suit work?
Pet Support Suits are designed to wrap around the torso and clip into place, so there is no need to thread the head or legs through loops of strap. They are designed to provide solid, no-slip support for dogs of all sizes, so that their humans can help them overcome mobility issues. We designed the first Suit for a dog that can't stand up, so his owners wanted the wrap-around design feature above all else, with the ability to carry their wiggly dog outside a close second.
The handles clip on to the support rings at the four corners, and join to the straps the cross underneath the torso to support the dog, basically turning your dog into a duffel bag with feet, so that even an average-sized person can help a large dog outside, down or up stairs, or into a car.
Both Suits and Get-a-Grip Harnesses have a layered, padded fabric body section which the straps are attached to, and which provide padding for the underbelly and chest. In the case of the Support Suits, the fabric wraps all the way around the torso and secures with Velcro, in addition to the straps. The Grips have the same strap configuration, but are open at the top. Both can be seen at our website, petsupportsuit.com
Suits are custom-built to conform to the torso measurements of the dog that will wear them, so if you need a harness to fit a dog with a very long or very short torso, or a dog with a broad chest and skinny waist, for example, or if you want to get support as far toward the hips as possible, the custom Suit solves those problems. It usually takes 3-4 days for a Support Suit to be ready to ship.
