Java had more of a chance for love in the short time because of you then the pup would ever have had and that should be a blessing for your memory. Distemper is a rough way to go. I am terribly sorry after all your hard work that Java's life ended this way. I hope what a woman at the guild told me is true, that if you treat a dog with kindness, you will meet again at the rainbow's bridge when it is your time to cross.
