Jasper loathes the mud

Me with both my boys!

And Yarrow with his C/Koolie buddy Tamlyn, they're such a funny pair!

Well, that's it. I need Yarrow, or a clone. Forget everything I've ever said about not being compatible with Northern breeds.

Love, love, love him! Beautiful photos and this one

of Jasper is gorgeous. Tamlyn is a cutie, too!! Love the coat color and pattern.

I have to say, just to tempt you further, but I really wouldn't consider myself a northern breed type person, either. I don't think I would ever get a husky or a malamute (I think they're gorgeous, don't get me wrong!). I've spent time with both breeds and they just aren't for me.

Now, Yarrow is of course my dog so I'm sure I am biased, but he's a bit different. He does have quite a bit of GSD in him though so that could be it.

Really?! I had no idea - I just assumed ANCDs had temperaments similar to that of huskies and malamutes. Like you, I also love both breeds, but I wouldn't know what to do with one if I owned one. My personal preferences are geared more towards herding breeds. I really want a dog that's naturally biddable and off leash reliable, and from your photos it looks like Yarrow has at least the latter down pat :D

Holy crap, now I really want a Yarrow LOL Do you mind if I PM'd you sometime about the breed? Would especially love to hear about similarities and differences between Yarrow and a herding breed like Jasper.

Oh my god, Yarrow is such an incredibly stunning animal. I'd love to get an ANCD *someday*, but I plan to eventually move back to Hawaii in a few years and I don't think they allow importation of wolfy-looking dogs :(

These are gorgeous as usual but for the first time Jasper is taking my eyes off Yarrow. These are wonderful photos of him and he's really a handsome boy. You have some gorgeous country there.

They're gorgeous, all of them - your photography skills probably make them look even MORE so.

Just wanted to throw in - I'd not likely seek out a husky or malamute, either. They definitely are not what I'd look for in a companion dog...but I am STRONGLY considering an ANCD in the future. I've never met one, but from what I've heard from owners and the "breed's" creators, they sound quite different in temperament and biddability from northern breeds.
