Well, it's been just over one month with Jake and I've learned a few things about altering your life to fit a dog in.

    1) Cat's will generally tolerate a dog until a clump of fur is removed from the cat's behind by said dog.
    2) Never let your new dog sleep on you if you're in the process of changing their food from one brand to another
    3) Never press the couch against the crate and think 'he can't get his mouth through the crate'.
    4) Couch repairs are expensive.
    5) Make sure you have a good hold on your dog's leash when you go to stoop and scoop.
    6) After a bath, dogs will generally wait until they can get real close to you before they 'shimmy' the excess water off their fur.
    7) Dogs dry faster than jeans
    8) It matters not what room you may be hiding in....your puppy will know exactly where you are when you attempt to tie your shoes without help.
    9) Always have spare shoe-laces hidden somewhere....you WILL need them.
    10) My dog is burr resistant. My gloves are burr-attractants!

ROFLMAO!!!! Yup, seems like you've learned many of the valuable lessons puppies are capable of teaching us! :) (But there will be a few more along the way that we could tell you about but we don't want to ruin the surprises
    for you! )

LOL! If you learned that much in month one, wait until you get into month two.... ;)

In fact, the first year is quite entertaining. I can't even make a list, I am ready to write a book with my stories! ;)

ROFL! I pretty much gave up on shoes with laces, except for the omnipresent athletic shoes, several dogs ago . . .

Thank you so much for your story, it brightened my morning. Does anyone know why dogs always want to help tie our shoes? And while I'm at it, do your dogs help with the housework, like helping you sweep the floor or when you are dusting? Mine TRY to be helpful.

Max is a helpful reminder that I should put the dishes in the dishwasher and not wash & dry them by hand. If I leave the dish towel on the counter, Max will slowly put his front paws on top of the counter and grab the towel with his mouth. Then he backs up and runs to the next room so you can try to get it out of his mouth. If you see him stealing the towel, he still does it with a look on his face like you're not going to stop me are you? I have to laugh!
