My Min-Pin Sarge was neutered about 12 weeks ago. Everything healed beautifully, and he showed no signs of discomfort. When our female dogs came into heat, we didn't think any of it, because all of our male dogs are now either fixed or incapable of producing offspring. Well, we have caught Sarge in the act with my mom's LHC a few times now. I didn't think they were supposed to get those hormone surges after they were neutered? He has also been more aggressive than normal when he plays with his toys, and he won't eat anything. I just didn't think they were capable after they were fixed.

I've seen this too. I had a neutered gsd mix when I was younger and living on a Reservation. The Reservation I lived on most people who lived there did not neuter/spay or vet their dogs, so there were dogs roaming all the time having more puppies and being sick with just about everything imaginable.
Anyway, the neighbors to our right (about 20 acres away) had two 6-9month old female rottweilers went roaming when they went into heat. I got to watch as two GSD males from another neighbor mate with them. Then my GSD attempted to mate with one of them, and even managed to tie off.
As soon as he was done, I shooed off the two GSDs that weren't mine, and grabbed the other three dogs (my gsd and the 2 bitches) and took them back over to my neighbor's house. I explanied to the neighbor what happened, showed that my GSD was in fact neutered and warned them that their dogs would most like be pregnant now.
I found out later that the other two GSDs were found shot a week later in the woods, adn there were puppies. My dog was left alone.
