I finally have a dog of my own! I adopted her on Thursday from the shelter I work at. She's only 8 months old and we have a lot of socializing to do. She's shy around strangers, especially men. We're working on it and she's already become a lot more confident in the few days I've had her.

She was listed as a long haired chihuahua mix, but seems a bit larger and longer than a chihuahua should be. I think she might be part papillon if anything. What do you guys think? I'll be interested to see if she gets more fringe as she ages.

Anyways, here are a bunch more pictures from our walk today!

She was loving the woods and was leaping over logs like nobody's business! Which was great to see because I hope to do agility with her in the future.

So cute!!! An arctic Foxy :) I love how she's so fearless, taking on that giant rock. I bet she'll love agility.

What a cutie! Congrats on getting your own dog--I remember how nervous and excited I was bringing Lucy home from the shelter :)

I don't necessarily see papillion there. It's possible, but I think it's more likely that she's an oversized chi. Regardless, super cute!

BYB chihuahua is a pretty solid guess, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if she had some mini-doxie in her.

She's very pretty!

She looks actually almost exactly like our Chihuahua Popcorn. Also I don't see Papillon either.

Popcorn is big (7-8 lbs) built like her and is a long hair too. He's just out of standard...by a LOT. lol.

I decided on the name Foxy because she reminds me so much of an arctic fox which is pretty easy to see in this picture

Sam, one of the resident cats, decided to go on a walk with us! Sam is convinced he's part dog, while I'm pretty sure Foxy is convinced she's part cat.
