I feed my two, 9 months old shih tzus Innova adult dry kibble, can food and now I have added a bit of Evo to their food. I feed them both, ( according to the calculation on how much food to feed from the Food Wizard in the www.naturapet.com ) about 3/4 cup total food.

You'll achieve a much better balance by sticking to the EVO formula alone. Even Innova doesn't recommend mixing the two. It doesn't hurt to switch off with a bag of the regular Innova from time to time if your dogs like a bit of variety.

I wrote to Natura ( waiting for their reply ) about mixing the Innova kibble and can with the Evo. Will let you know what they say.

I have to admit, I'm very impressed with your knowlege of food...thanks for replying to me.

On another note, would you consider joining another dog forum: www.doggiebagonline.com ( in addition to this ) that was launched 2 months ago as the result of Doggie Door site crashed? It's an awesome site...lots of great topics, members and experts who are truly devoted to the well being of our four legged friends. Check it out.

Thanks,

i think that's the forum i was pointed to recently, where a woman is going around claiming i don't really know anything about dog nutrition and just learned what i know "from the internet". :D

she had briefly joined another forum i frequent and was banned for being extremely rude.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience Mordy...Are you sure you have the right forum? Do you remember the name of this person? Doggiebagonline will not tolerate rudeness.:( Let me know the name of the person if you can recall it.

By the way, I admire all your knowledge Mordy and I'm sure the members of Doggiedoor.com will too! :)

Thanks,

I started feeding my american bulldogs evo a few months ago and have been LOVING it...they get a lot of raw diet too so the combination has them in top shape...very active and alert and GREAT coats. Not to mention fewer and nice hard poops to pick up ;)

This is the reply I got from Natura about mixing the Evo with the kibble and can food:

Thank you for contacting us about our products. You can mix all three together.

The EVO and Adult Innova are pretty much the same as far as calories are concerned. Just choose one of them for the calculation with the canned food, and then take out and put in equal amounts when making your adjustment to how much to add of the dry kibbles.

I hope I have given enough information to adequately address your query. If you have any further questions or need additional information, please feel free to contact me at your convenience.

Please reference the original e-mail when responding.

That's interesting. :) They're good about answering questions. When EVO first came out the recommendation was to feed one or the other. This makes sense, though, since some dogs do quite well with more carbohydrate than is in the EVO, but less than is in the regular Innova.
