Rajapalayam: Apparently a small boar hound.

Kanni: From what I can see, it's a hunting dog that almost exclusively used to be a dowry item.

    Kombai/Combai: A bear hound?

    Chippiparai: a sighthound type.

Here's what one site had to say about them which touches on their pigment and eye color:

This race resembles to a large miniature Dane, with his powerful construction, muscular and heavy. It is a typical gun dog for wild boar. It is usually white, the skin being pink. It has a deep breast piece. The hairs are soft on the head but gross on the body. The males make approximately 25 kg and 65 cm with the garrot and the bitches approximately 20 kg and 60 cm with the garrot. It has an arched head which is carried high. The skin is loose everywhere on the body and the eyes are dark and usually brown dark. The ears are hanging and give one of soft leather. The jaws powerful and one are articulated out of scissors. The tail thinned on 1/3 its length giving him an osseous aspect. The legs are long. It needs freedom and space. Correctly educated, it makes an excellent watchdog.

Rajapalayam puppies are good in demand. The Kennel Club of India is promoting this breed.

Rajapalayam dogs are also called as Rajapalayam hounds.

A friend of mine who owns Ca da Bous, also owns an imported Bully Kutta. He's a neat dog but totally different than anything I'm used to owning (APBTs, Rottweiler, Dogo Argentino, OEB, Shar Pei/Cane Corso mix, Cairn Terrier.....). He's a very strong willed dog that thinks for himself. He's highly DA & very wary & aloof with strangers. He's wonderful with "his" family, but strangers are not welcome. After meeting him several times, I'm accepted with no complaints but I am nowhere near loved by this dog. Can I pet him & help with his care? Yes. But I'm carefully watched all the same.

BUT......different strokes for different folks. ;)

To bad they are being used so often for fighting.

Their look varies a fair amount. Many people say the term Bully Kutta, encompasses a type (like the Term Pit Bull), rather than tight breed standard.

Here is some info on Bully Kuttas and pictures.

It's true that they are used for fighting. But dog on dog fighting isn't the most common form. It' more dogs vs. bear or other large animals. And it's a huge cultural "sport" in places like Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, & other middle east countries.
