I'm telling everybody I know.
I'm writing a book.

I kept saying I should write a book and within the last few months I've been more seriously thinking about it. I have two ideas, one involves co-authoring with my mom. I'm doing the second idea on my own so that's the one I'm starting with (although I think the co-authored book might be a better idea overall.)

Supposedly if you tell people about your goals, you are more likely to do them - vocalizing them makes them "real" and also makes you accountable to other people. So I always tell people about my goals. I'm running a half-marathon in April again! And I'm writing a book.

It's about Auggie. Of course.

I should also write a children's book about Auggie. About how he's special needs physically and still did awesome athletic stuff. I'm adding that to my list of book ideas right now.

My working title is "a dog book where the dog doesn't die in the end."

Of course I started the book by writing about Happy which means I already cried once while writing it.

I got a bit behind on the word count so I'm bangin' out words tonight like nobody's business. Less than 600 words to go and I hit the "goal" for today (10,000 words!)

I also had another idea while at work yesterday and today found a way to make that happen. I'm starting that one on Thanksgiving Day, so I'm hoping to wrap NaNoWriMo up a few days early so I can focus on just messing with that one...

I think it would actually be easier to be writing a fiction novel right now. Non-fiction is harder! I have to actually think about what happened. It hasn't been that long - six years - but there's so much I don't remember. I'm reading back through old blog posts and forum posts here to jog my memory, and I'm literally like "I don't remember that..." But there it is. It's so weird. I mean, I already knew I don't remember at all how I actually trained Auggie LOL. But I thought it was because I've read so much about training and different methods in the meantime that things have just gotten fuzzy.

Nope. I just straight up forgot. Derp.

Yesterday I finished the main agility-themed parts of the book, save the ending. Now I get to start writing the funny parts of the book (not that some of the agility parts aren't funny.) It will be a nice change from the rather emotionally charged stuff I've been writing. I can't wait to write about our obedience debut, hahaha. Obedience Comedy Act! Yay!

I did make it through almost 20k words without swearing, but I couldn't help myself and dropped a "crazy bitch" in at one point. I'll have to take it out in editing or my grandma and aunt will probably both have heart attacks if they ever read it. But it's an accurate description of the person involved...
