Sorry Pam derailing a bit.
IE, planning to put two dogs together is not an oops, even if it happens early.
Not only was there no health testing, these are rescue dogs! From one version of the owner's story at least. They have titles in no reputable venues. They don't remotely have one thing desirable about the breeding AT ALL. Two pets were bred. Is that what you did? I doubt it.
I just see no way to defend this breeding.
Well Kaiden had no titles when I bred him to Twist. He does now.. but at the time...
Twist had some placings in conformation and that was it...
Breeding pets is fine IMO with health tests and contracts esp when it comes to toys. Ruby is a service dog. That to me is a decent recommendation for passing on genes. Breeding is as much art as it is science. I got some heat from JRT breeders for breeding Dekka. I have to say I am pretty thrilled with the results.
You don't agree thats fine. I don't agree that they should have been bred before health testing. But it was an oops. If health testing went well and Foxy is willing to keep track of all puppies and make sure none end up in rescues/shelter I have to say I am fine with it. But then I have never been a fan of people who breed just for conformation, health test but then sell the pet pups to whom ever and don't keep track of what happens to them.
So yes I can defend this litter. There are other things that yes could have been handled better etc. But for this actual litter.. I am relatively fine with it. I am more sketched out by a CL rescue filas having puppies (due to their size and temperament) but that seemed to end up ok.... The biggest risk I can see is a health issue. Both dogs seem to have stellar temperaments.
But then what I deem ethical is not what other people deem ethical, and that is fine. But don't tell me I can't defend something I am obviously defending lol.
