Unforgettable Adventure
By Breawna B
It was one normal night at Deacon Lake. It was a pretty decent place to be. I was there with my friends, Jack, Connor & Jimmy. "We're gonna pull a little prank tonight, boys" I laughed. They smiled. We all liked playing pranks and this one was one of our best. I pulled a screw driver out of my pocket and we walked onto the covered dock. Nobody was on this dog because it was raining, but sometimes people fished on it. We went to the end of the dog and I carefully unscrewed the first 6 wood panels. A while after I'd unscrewed them, a man, maybe in his 50s, walked down the dock and onto the planks we had unscrewed. He fell. But one leg didn’t go down the same time as the other one. It hit the dog and it was like he did the splits in thin air. That wasn’t the way it was supposed to work. Nobody was supposed to get hurt. As someone called the ambulance and police, I ran over and grabbed the man’s hand, yanking him up onto the dock with all my might. The police and an ambulance arrived soon after and came over to the four of us. “Who did this?” he asked, he had a stern look on his face as he stared with anticipation into our eyes. My so called “friends” looked at me. The police man took out his hand cuffs and started to say “Son”, but I bolted. Running faster than I had ever run before, I charged away from the lake. I could hear the police man right behind me, his heavy foot steps and his loud screaming. I tried running faster, but I felt as if I was running as fast as I could, but I advanced speed and ran down the side walk. He was quick for a man in his 20s or 30s. I looked behind myself and saw that he had stopped. He had his walkie talkie in his hands and I could hear him calling for back up and an attack dog. “Oh no” I whispered to myself. I’d seen those dogs before and they were mean. They did anything their master’s asked and one of their top commands was to attack other people. Knowing I had to hurry, I advanced speed again. I could never beat a dog so I needed a head start. Tripping over my feet, I kept running along the side walk. I looked behind myself and as far away as I was from the lake now, I saw the dog had arrived. A big, buff German shepherd was out of the car and the master was looking around for me. As I moved on the sidewalk, I knew I had to get out of sight immediately. My heart was beating crazily and I was panting so hard I felt like my lungs wouldn’t take in anymore air. I went behind the nearest building and found an entrance. I ran around in circles and retraced it, and then I turned around and ran out of the building. Then I saw the dog, the master was looking right at me and he was going to let the dog off the lead. I thought I was a goner for a moment but then I saw a tree house behind one of the houses. I ran around the house and up the ladder that led to the little house. Sitting down in it I tried to quite down my panting. My throat was dry and my heart was trying it’s hardest to pump blood, but it felt like it was going to fail. I was extremely lucky. I didn’t think I was going to make it. Feeling like just letting myself die, I lied down on the hard wood and closed my eyes. As tired as I was from running, I fell asleep.

More of the story coming! Read on.

Morning came and I was still in the tree house. Yawning, I attempted to get up but hit my head hard on the roof. Groaning, I knelt down and climbed down the latter. I would’ve stayed there but I wasn’t going to take the risk of a kid going up there to play and finding me in there. It was very early in the morning; the sun was just coming up. I was glad the dog was gone, but I still had to keep going just in case they decided to try and find me again. I had to eat something sooner or later, but I could wait until tomorrow for that… as for a drink on the other hand… I needed one right then. Luckily, I had $25 I was supposed to use at the lake for food and stuff. I went to the nearest gas station and walked in. Grabbing bottled water for $1, I took a nice drink of it before buying it. The man at the register asked me “Where are your parents?” I thought of an excuse “they’re in the car” was the only thing I could think of. He glared at me trying to figure out if I was lying to him or not. After he beeped the water, he held out his hand for the $1. I have it to him and on my way out I glared at him back. I went behind a building and sat down, drinking more of my water. I could only drink a little bit though, even though I felt like gulping it all down. I had to save some.

I had been walking all that hot day, and really needed to rest. All I saw was a big bush, and if that was what I had to sleep in to sleep the soonest, so be it. Working my way into it, I lied down after getting as comfortable as I was going to get. Curling up like a dog, I soon fell asleep.

I woke up early again, and got walked once again. Then I saw a Subway and my mouth started to water. Gosh did that sound delicious! I walked in and bought a big turkey sandwich. Gladly, there was a sale going on and I got it for $2. Taking it behind the building, I widened my mouth and was about the take a nice big bite out of it. Then I saw a dog. She was standing a couple feet away from me, licking her lips. Her eyes were sad and innocent, blotches of her fur were gone, and where her fur was gone, it was scabbed, red, burnt, and irritated. She smelt of gasoline. My best guess was that someone doused her in gasoline and lit a match. Poor little girl, she looked as if she hurt very badly. I was a little scared at first, but I noticed her eyes were so forgiving and innocent. All she wanted was some love and food. I had planned on having that entire sandwich to myself, but decided better of it. As I coaxed her over, she cowered down and crawled over to me. I gave her half of the sandwich and I ate the rest. She gulfed hers down before I had even taken a bite out of mine. “Jeez girl, you’re hungrier than I am!” I told her. She looked up at me with her innocent eyes. After finished my half of the sandwich I stood up and said to her, “All right. See you later”. But I guess it wasn’t goodbye after all, she followed me.

The dog followed me miles until night time. Then I worked my way into the woods and lied down on the dirt, and fell asleep sooner of later.

I woke up later expecting the dog to be gone. But she was lying right beside me. Rubbing my eyes, I said, “Ah, so you decided to stay with me”. Then I decided I may as well give her a name. I thought of the all the names I knew of and found one that fit her well. “Sandy” I said, and her ears perked up. “Good girl. That’s your name”. For a second her eyes turned happy, it amazed me how forgiving she was. “Well, we’d better get back on the run” I sighed as I stood up and brushed the dirt off my clothes. I went to the nearest food shop and told Sandy to go stay outside. After ordering turkey burgers, I walked outside, and sure enough, Sandy was sitting there exactly where I’d told her to. “Lets go” I let her behind a different building and sat down. I threw her her burger as I ate mine. After gulfing hers down, she looked at me for more. “Sorry girl. This is mine” I said, my mouth full of bread and turkey. She soon figured out she wasn’t getting it and got comfortable sitting next to me.

Once I finished that nourishing burger I got up and got walking again. Wishing I hadn’t even ran from that police man in the first place, I still walked on. What if I got caught anyway? Then I saw a new newspaper and picked it up. I read it as I walked on. On the first page it said they might ban pit bulls. “Oh great Sandy, they might ban you. Now you might have to hide like me, too” I sighed, knowing we were going to have to stay out of sight even more now.

It was extremely hot towards the middle of the day. I was sweating and Sandy was panting hard. Sitting down, I drank some water and put some into my cupped hands for Sandy. She lapped it up. The bottle was emptying quickly and the money was getting low. All we had left was $18. I had to use it wisely. No more good bottled water, we’d have to find a lake or river to drink out of. And sometimes even go fishing with a stick for fish to eat. My legs were aching and tired, but I’d have to live with it. We couldn’t stop now.

Later on in the day, Sandy stopped dead in her tracks. She stopped & sniffed the air. Then she ran into sight, right into the middle of down. “No! Sandy! No! Sandy, no, please stop!” I screamed, and without thinking, ran after her. She ran into a backyard where a little girl sat at her tea table. “Oh no” I said, my shoulders slumping as I almost cried. The little girl screamed as she saw Sandy charging at her. “Please… no… Sandy… no…” I whispered to myself. But then I saw her soar over the little girl. I ran over to find Sandy atop a rattle snake, shaking the sense out of it. Once Sandy killed it and dropped it in the grass, I yelled, “Oh Sandy! Good girl! Good girl!” She looked up at me, tail wagging and mouth creased into a smile, and eyes happy and loving. They were no longer sad. The girl’s mother had heard her daughter’s screaming, and came running out. She saw Sandy standing next to the dead snake. “Is this your dog?” she asked me. “Yes. Sandy” I guessed she was my dog since I was the one caring for her. The young lady knelt down in front of Sandy and stroked her head. Sandy gave her a big sloppy kiss. “What happened to her?” she asked as she stood up. “Well, I found her. My best guess is that someone doused her in gasoline and lit a match to her, but I don’t really know”. “Oh that’s terrible! She’s so lucky she found you” she smiled over at me, and then she added, “as a little reward, may I invite you inside to stay for the day? We can give Sandy a bath and you can take a shower then we can have a big lunch”. “That would be wonderful!” I smiled. Her house was cool and pretty. “First you take a shower. I’ll wash your clothes” the women said. It took awhile for me to notice she was talked to me. “Oh thanks Mrs.…” I waited for her to finish my sentence. “Abby”. I went into the bathroom and handed her my clothes through the door.

The shower was delightful. The water was warm and refreshing. The shampoo smelt great and once I got out I felt cleaner than ever. Wrapping a towel around my waist down, I left the bathroom for my clothes. Abby handed them to me and I headed back for the bathroom to change.

After giving Sandy a bath, which she greatly enjoyed, it was time to eat. Abby filled a bowl with turkey, chicken, hamburger, cheese burger, roast beef, cheese, ham, and a raw egg and put it on the ground for Sandy. I sat down for lunch to find Abby’s daughter hugging Sandy. Sandy was getting impatient; she wanted that bowl of food so bad. But she held it back and let the girl hug her. “Okay, Andrea. Time to eat” Abby picked her daughter up and put her in a chair at the table.

Lunch was delicious Sandy’s lunch was delicious to her, and mine was delicious to me. It was a pretty big lunch, and it saved money, too. A hamburger, corn on the cob, chicken soup, sliced cheese, a peach, and a glass of orange juice. I still wasn’t full, but that was no problem. She put cheesecake and ice cream on the table and I ate like a pig. “So how come you were so dirty?” she asked me.
“Well…” I said
She looked at me with wonder in her eyes
“I sort of ran away”
“Mmmmm”
“And on the way I found Sandy. She followed me.”
“Why’d you run away?”
“Well… I was gonna get arrested so… I ran”
“How far have you gone for your home?”
“Further than 20 miles”
“Whoa…”
“Yeah” I said looked down at my empty plate
“Well, you’re welcome to stay with us…”
“Oh, thank you. But I really do think you’ve done enough”
“But…”
“Besides, I might get caught”
“All right then, let me provide you with a nice bag of food and drinks then”
“That would be great”

Evening came and it was time for Sandy & I to go. Abby had stuffed a bag with beans and chili in tub-o-wears, fruit, a box of cereal, water in water bottles, bread, fruit snacks, nutty bars, peanut butter, marshmallows, chocolate, crackers and some other stuff. She’d also put in some dog food she’d bought for Sandy from the store. “Thank you so much” I said to Abby and left the house, Sandy at my side. She looked up at me, her eyes no longer sad or hurt. They were happy, forgiving, loving, and caring. Her tongue lolled out of the side of her mouth, making you want to laugh at her funny expression. She looked so much better after the bath. Her scabs were gone, making her bald spots just pink skin, not red, scabbed skin. The bag of food looked so good… but I knew I had to save it so Sandy and I didn’t starve.

Sandy and I stayed up late that night. It got so cold I made a fire and cooked marshmallows. We lied down by it, but the ground was so hard and uncomfortable we didn’t fall asleep anytime soon. But when I did fall asleep, I dreamed of home. My parents, who were probably, worried sick about me, not knowing where I was or what I was doing. I dreamed of the house, decorated and comfortable. I missed it all, but I’d have to live with it.

“Okay, Sandy. I know it’s early, but we’ve got the go now” I said. It was late in the morning and Sandy wasn’t too happy about having to get up. But she still followed me, and soon after getting up, she was happy and her tail flapped and wagged. On the way to no where, I found another newspaper. On the first page was a story about a pit bull saving a little girl from a rattle snake, a story about Sandy, and that they weren’t going to ban pit bulls. “Yes!” I yelled, looking down at Sandy. She looked up at me wondering what I was yelling so happily about. “You don’t have to hide anymore! And it’s all because of you, you good dog. But you still kind of have to hide… because I do” I laughed. My happy mood made her happy and she barked her happy bark, jumping around. She really understood me.

After walking a few more miles, I sat down to eat. Feeding Sandy a can of dog food from the bag, I ate a tub-o-wear of beans. Once we were both done eating we walked on. I was tired of walking and hiding, but now I had no choice. My destination, where ever it was, wasn’t close.

A couple of hours later, I saw a bike sitting ride inside the woods. I decided to see if anyone was there. Then I saw clothes and a bag of something. I walked further and found a site with a fire that was put out. “What are you doing here” a voice came from behind me. It startled me, Sandy and I jumped around. There stood a boy about my age with long blonde hair. “I… I saw your bike” was my only answer. “So you decided to go snooping’ around in someone else’s business?” the boy asked. I didn’t answer. “Huh?” he said madly. I still didn’t answer. “Who are you?” I asked. “Dryden” he said with a sneer. “James” I said, looking it him with suspicious eyes. “You needa get outta here” Dryden said. “No I don’t. Why should I?” I asked rudely. “Fine, but keep that mutt away from Roslyn” he said, I could see in his eyes he felt like attacking me. “First of all, Sandy is not a mutt. And who’s Roslyn?” I asked. Dryden unzipped his backpack and pulled out a tiny orange kitten. “She is Roslyn. Found ‘er 3 weeks ago when she was only 3 or 4 weeks old. Now she’s about 5 or 6 and doing’ well. Someone abandoned her or something”. Sandy showed interest in Roslyn. Dryden wasn’t too sure about it but he put Roslyn down. I knew Sandy wouldn’t hurt Roslyn. And I was right; Sandy just gave Roslyn a big sloppy kiss. Dryden & I laughed.

I decided to stay with Dryden for the night. We sat by the fire and talked. “So how’d you end up out here?” I asked. “My step dad tried to kill me when he was drunk”, his answer surprised me. My answer wasn’t half as bad as his, but I answered anyway, “I was about to get arrested. As he ate some berries from a nearby bush he asked me, “Why is that?” I thought and figured I may as well tell him the truth. “Well, I unscrewed these planks on the dog and someone fell, got hurt, and I bolted when the police man took out his hand cuffs”. He burst out laughing, I didn’t get what was so funny, but I joined in the laughing. I soon fell asleep, with Sandy at my side.

Morning came quicker than ever the next day because we got up so early. “C’mon! We gotta get on the road, man” Dryden shook me awake. He was putting Roslyn in his backpack and feeding Sandy a fresh fish that was still floppin’ around. Once I woke up he handed me a skinned fish. I stuffed it in my mouth, spitting out every bone I felt. Yawning, we started to walk. “Where are you headed?” I asked Dryden. “I’m on the road to nowhere. Nowhere at all, just followin’ my senses” he said without looking over at me. Roslyn mewed a couple of her tiny meows. “All right, all right” Dryden talked to her as he unzipped the backpack and sat her down on the grass. What astonished me is that she followed Dryden’s every move, not letting him get out of her sight. Sandy was at my side, ignoring the little kitten running around. I was glad Sandy was gaining some weight; she was so skinny the day she found me. Little Roslyn saw a grass hopper hopping its way into the woods and started to follow it. Sandy, seeing what she was doing, did a little woof and Roslyn was back up with Dryden. “She’s a pretty good little cat” I told Dryden, he smiled down at his little kitten without saying anything.

The light turned to darkness and a storm rolled in. Rain was pouring in a matter of seconds. It was no longer hot, it was now cold. Dryden stuffed Roslyn into his backpack and we ran into the woods. We sat under a willow tree for cover. I fell asleep quickly.

“GET UP! We slept late!” Dryden screamed in my ear. I opened my eyes and he was shaking me. Rubbing my eyes, I sat up. Roslyn was rolling around in the leaves that had dropped from the willow and Sandy was lying in the leaves, she looked warm. I got up and pulled some food out of the bag. Eating some myself, I gave the others their share. “We better go our opposite ways now” I said, knowing I could share anymore food. I really enjoyed the company but we had to go now. “See ya” was all Dryden said, and Sandy & I were off.

The day was bright and sunny, just the right temperature for walking. I was glad it rained, because resting my legs under the willow tree for a while restored most of my energy. Sandy was in an awesome mood, as always. She hopped along happily beside me, her tail wagging side to side and her tongue lolling out of her mouth. She was such a great dog, who would ever abandon a dog like her? I most definitely wouldn’t. Since we were many miles away, I decided we could walk on the sidewalk. I needed some social time, anyway. We moved onto the sidewalk and Sandy enjoyed being pet by all the people who passed by. Every time a hand was laid on her, her tail wagged harder and she had to have licked every single one. As for me, people asked me millions of questions about her. How old is she? Is she a pit bull? What happened to her? How come she’s bald in some spots? And I also got someone comments about her; everyone said what a great dog she was and how awesome she was. Little children came by and roughly grabbed her, Sandy didn’t show any aggression at all though, she just licked them and walked on. If I walked more than a couple feet ahead of her, she’d speed up and be at my side again. Only a few people were scared of her because she was a pit bull, and once she ran up to them and licked them, their fear was gone. We were on the sidewalk until night time, Sandy was so happy it cheered me up, too. Once it got very late and the sun went down, we worked our way into the woods once again and lied down under a tree just in case it rained. I fell asleep in no time, with Sandy keeping me warm.

The next day was warmer than the day before. We went onto the sidewalk again and everyone was busy already. People got up early in the morning to go to town to avoid having to wait in lines. I decided to go look around in some stores. Normally some of the stores wouldn’t allow dogs, but once they met Sandy it changed. It didn’t surprise me how much people loved Sandy, who could resist her? We entered a pet store and I started to look around. I saw the coolest light blue collar for sale, and it came with a free tag you could create. I tried to think if I should buy it or not, and decided I should. I created a tag with Sandy’s name on it and who she belonged to. She loved it, lifting her head high; she walked even more proudly than before. Some stores gave us free food, even the most expensive food stores with the best food. Thinking if I should eat everything then and there, I decided better of it and put all the food in the bag. It was great; Sandy was making such great impressions on people she was earning us more food, with no money down. We spend the whole day in town, visiting and talking with many people. Sandy said hi to everyone that passed by, and had to have gotten more than 100 pats on the head. Night time came quickly because we were having so much fun. Going behind the building, we followed what we did everyday, worked our way into the woods and fell asleep.

Every day after that was pretty much the same. Town, woods, bed, town, woods, bed. Food was running out pretty quick. We walked all the way to a dry city, one that was pretty much deserted. I walked down the sand road, sweating like a pig. Sandy and I drank lots of water, but we still had plenty left. A man came out of a gas station like looking house and said “Yo, boy, come ‘ere”. I stared at him thinking if I should go over there or not. Biting my lip hard, I walked over there, Sandy at my side. “Erm… yes, sir?” I said cautiously. “Whata boy like you doin’ here?” his language gave me a head ache. “Um… I don’t know. My senses led me here” I said. “No, I mean, where are your parents?” he asked me suspiciously. “I ran away” I said almost as if I was proud of it. “Ah” was all he said in return. “You wanna eat some food and wash soma that dirt Offa your body?” he asked me. I sure wanted to, but wasn’t sure about it, so I didn’t say anything. “C’mon in, my buddies are in there, too” I figured since I had the dog and everything, I could go in, so I followed him into his gas station like house. Two other men were at a little table in the middle of the room playing cards. “Yo, man” they both said like it was a regular thing having kids in their house. I nodded my head and looked around. It wasn’t the cleanest house, but it was okay. “What’s in that bag ya got there?” one of the men asked. “Food” I answered, and then the two men asked the man who led me into the house, “Who is this dude?” finally I felt like I was the first kid in their house. “James” I answered for them, “who are you?” “Tan, Jumna, and that’s Poppy ova there”. They had pretty weird names; which probably weren’t their real names. I giggled without a sound and started to walk around with Sandy, happy as can be like nothing at all was going on, walked beside me. There was a room with a toilet, sink, and shower; the bathroom, a kitchen, and 4 bedrooms. I longed to ask why there were four bedrooms when there were only 3 men, so I did. “Oh, that was Jokai’s room. He died last year” they said in humbled voices. “Oh, sorry I asked” I said as I kept walking around the house. It was small, but fine. The floor was sandy wood, and the walls were a white color and it was kind of poky looking. “Whatcha bring him in here for, Poppy?” they asked. “He gonna be our Jokai if that’s okay with him. He came walking down here where nobody walked in years”. “Why haven’t people walked here in years?” I asked politely, in my good, English language, unlike theirs. Their voices sounded like a person who hadn’t been around people in years. They shrugged and Jumna said, “Deserted”. “Why are all your people here then?” I asked, in a ruder voice than I had expected to come out. “This a our home land, ya no. And we aint leavin our home land. We got no right to, ya know? I mean, everyboda left and we don’t wanna. This is our home, know what I’m a sayin? Besides, we got it all to ourselves, ya sure mayba we gotta walk miles to get ourselves some food but whoa cares bout that? This is our home lank and we aint leavin” Poppy answered. I nodded. Sandy sat at my side and cocked her head at the men. Wondering what they were talking to her beloved savior for. She looked up at me as if to ask “Can we get on our way now? I am not used to sitting here this long! We’re usually moving’ by now!”, she wasn’t going to move without him. She didn’t want to be drenched and lit on fire again, she wanted him to protect her. I looked down at her and then looked back up at the men, made sure there was a lock on the door just in case, and said “Okay, guys, we’re here for a while, I’ll be your…Jokai for a while”. They walked out of the room and I looked the door, taking a deep breath, I looked around the room, Sandy trailed behind me sniffing everything.
A few days passed and life was good. I was fattened up and so was Sandy. I wasn’t going to get as fat as those chubby men I was living with though, no offence to them. So I tried not to eat even half as much as them. Sandy, on the other hand, didn’t care. She ate as much as she could.
I lived there until I turned 16 years old, 4 years of living with those men. My English got pretty bad myself. I had also changed – I had decided I was never going to play a prank or be mean to someone again. Life was too valuable for that – for both me and the people around me. I was missing school and still had the brain of a 12 year old, but I didn’t care at all. The town I had been living in with the men sure was deserted. Nobody came near the down, dust just floated in the wind. It was time to leave the town and the men though; they knew the time was going to come. Sandy was 8 years old and one more year and she wouldn’t be able to get back, the men had fattened her up so much! Tan, Jumna, and Poppy sighed and with tears, said goodbye. They each gave Sandy a giant hug and Sandy gave them all a slobbery kiss. I was broken to leave them, but my parents were needing me now, and since years had passed so fast, the police department would have forgotten about him by now. Winter was also coming soon; he would have to get on his way if he didn’t want to freeze to death on his way home. So, with a big sigh, Sandy and I were on our way.

Months passed – Sandy and I took more breaks than usual. It took longer than usual, too. Winter came right when he was getting nearer and nearer his old home town. It amazed him that he could find his way back home. Sandy had no trouble, she seemed to never get tired. And burned off a lot of fat the men had put on her, too. It was getting really cold, and snow was coming down. Two days until Christmas Eve. I wanted to get home on Christmas, surprise my parents and bring joy to them for their Christmas. I was determined to get there in time. Sandy and I walked and walked until they couldn’t walk anymore.

Two days had passed and it was Christmas Eve. I was near my house, but was tripping over my own feet. I was sick – pretty badly. Sandy was shivering and had a little cold. It was snowing and coming down hard, too. With a deep breath I fell on the step of a house, not knowing whose it was. Sandy curled up beside me and the world went black.

When I awoke it was the next day, I could tell. Sandy was lying under my arm shivering. I was shivering, too. Suddenly the door in front of him cracked open. With black lines under his eyes, he lifted his head up to see that it was. Sandy jerked her head up. I couldn’t believe my eyes. There stood my mom, she just stood there, with her mouth gaped open, and her ears filling with tears. “J-James?” she asked, tears now ripping down her cheeks. I gasped as I tried to answer yes. It was amazing how she could recognize me. “Jake!” she screamed across the house and my dad came running to the door. He recognized me, too. They dragged my up by the arms and tried to pull me inside the house, but I grabbed a hold of Sandy by the scruff. “Sandy” I gaped at them, and they brought me in with the dog behind me. I wouldn’t have let them bring me inside without my dog with me. They bundled me up with tons of blankets, and I threw one down on Sandy who was laying beside the couch on the floor. She curled up in it but got up after five minutes and I lifted my blankets up. She jumped up and curled up beside me, I put the blankets down so it covered both of us. I stared at the presents and the stockings in front of me, a tree towering over the couch. My name was engraved in one of the stockings and filled with presents. Had the expected me? I didn’t have anymore time to think. I fell asleep.

I woke up that night, my parents towering over me and Sandy, holding each other and smiling, crying too. When I opened up my eyes they gasped and bent down to hug me. They gorged me with medicine and then sat down beside me to talk. They asked me all these questions, and the last one they asked was who the dog was. I answered, “Sandy… I found her, and she was burnt and drenched in gas. Poor girl… I took her in on my way. And if you make her leave I am going, too”. They shook their heads and said, “She’s your dog now. Here forever and for always”. I nodded and smiled.

I never got caught by the police – I did get held back in school though. Imagine a 16 year old in 7th grade! Yes, that is what happened. Sandy, she was fat and doing well. Every Christmas was filled with bones and toys. She mostly uses the bones though. As for the run away – I never forgot it. It was an adventure. An unforgettable, unregrettable one.

Thats all! What did you think?
