My brother and a bunch of my friends all have these Keurig coffee makers. Even my parents have one. They are constantly telling me how awesome they are. Personally, I'm happy with our Cuisinart drip coffee maker and plain old Master Blend. Nothing fancy. I keep telling them that I refuse to join their cult.

Now, my place of employment has switched the older drip coffee makers out for industrial sized Keurig machines with an assortment of flavors. I just gave in and got a cup of their dark roast. I have to admit, it's darn good.

But I still refuse to join the K-cult :rofl1:

At the veterinary ophthalmologist I've been taking Toker and Chulita to, they have for their customers one of those Keurig machines. I think that's what it is. There are a bunch of little individual, plastic things with various coffees and you stick it in this place on top and it punctures the container and then the water drips through for a single cup. It's very good coffee. So, I don't know if it's the coffee or how it's brewed, but it sure is tasty.

Join the dark side Eddie! I never really was much of a coffee drinker, but ever since I discovered the Golden French Toast coffee I was hooked. The apple ciders and hot chocolates are pretty good, AND you don't have to wait for the water in the kettle to heat up.

I won't join either.

Between my husband and I we drink about a pot a day though, not wise economically to switch. Those individual cup things are a bit pricey.

I make drip coffee from some of the best beans available on the market and then compost it all after we're done drinking the pot. I can't see me going to K cups. The preloaded ones are way too much waste for my tastes and the load yourself ones make me just want a normal f-ing coffee pot.

I just use a regular coffee machine, but buy whole bean coffee that you grind yourself. I don't care for any of the flavored coffees. I want my coffee to taste strongly like coffee. lol. I can imagine those individual packets not being cost effective. Coffee is expensive enough as it is.

I am surrounded my Keurigs. I love the concept, but I just can’t seem to like the actual coffee it makes. We have a Bunn brewer at home, and it brews super fast. It wasn’t cheap but well worth it.

Eddie, I agree with you. Also, between the 2 of us, we drink a total of 6-7 cups a day. Do you know how expensive that would be? No way!

AGREE! And we now have another coffee drinker in the house, our 15 year old has discovered he likes coffee too.........won't pay those prices! LOL

Kevin prefers percolated, we have an old metal percolator pot we use on the camp fire, LOL but we have an average drip maker in the kitchen.

I switched to a keurig when my oldest moved out. I like it, but it is pricey. My supermarket used to have their brand of k-cups and it was much cheaper but they stopped selling it all of a sudden. I did buy 3 of those filters you fill yourself and while much cheaper, it is kind of a pain washing them out after each use, but then again I don't have to wash a pot anymore. I like how quick I can get my coffee, but to be honest I drink a lot of coffee daily and if I used a k-cup each time it would be expensive, so I keep k-cups on hand for when I have company or am too lazy but most of the time I use the k-cup filter and just fill them up as I use them.

I have a Tassimo. I LOVE my Tassimo. The coffee brewed from it makes the Keurig-brewed coffee taste like hot water with some weak instant brewed in it.

The problem? Tassimo doesn't like the US, therefore it keeps all the good coffees away from here. :(

I LOVE my Keurig. I drink 2 cups of coffee a day, and it is perfect. My husband has a little mini one at work I got him for Christmas. I also use mine for decaf on cold nights, easy to brew a single cup.

Hearts for Keurig.

I like one cup of coffee before work in the morning, and a cup of tea at a time. Keurig just makes more sense for me than a full perc or a full kettle most of the time. Instead of waiting for the water, I can use my K-cup filter and fresh coffee grounds, or my looseleaf tea in an infuser. Keurig = instant hot water.

I also buy K-cups when they're on sale, but you don't require them to use the Keurig. :)

Never heard of Kuerig... We don't have them here I guess.
I DO, however, love my tassimo. <3 I live alone and usually only drink 1 big cup of coffee in the morning, so it's worth it for me. If I brew filter coffee I end up throwing half away.
I also love all the stuff I can make with my tassimo. :D

I do have a filter machine for when my SO is here, because he's a huge coffee junkie.

I will not have one either eddie. It bothers me that there is all that plastic--you are brewing through it, and then the waste of it as well. I love my BUNN coffee maker--excellent coffee. And Coop--if I had time, I would use my husband's grandmother's old percolator--we still have it. We have used it from time to time--good coffee percolating over the stove....love.
