I always think I'm over goldens until I see one. Then I melt.

The shedding though!! THE SHEDDING!! LOL
Oh I KNOW... I grew up going to school every day with hair ALL over the place. hahaha. Not to mention we had a Golden AND a GSD at the same time.

Oh god, I have Golden want, too. So much of it.

THIS especially (yes, I did stalk Linds' Flickr photostream :p ).

That dog is ... *drools*

He's lovely. I think Goldens are a wonderful breed. (when bred right) When I got my Lab, it was between a Lab and a Golden. I opted for the Lab, only because of the non-tangly fur...less grooming. Because I love both breeds. So, are you going to spring for a Golden?
See, I'd pick Golden hair over Lab hair though. The little prickly small hairs that get everywhere drive me nuts. I'd rather have clumps lol.

I probably won't be springing for a Golden any time soon though. Just not a good time. :( Ideally, the biggest dog I should go is 35lbs max. And I admit, I've gotten really spoiled with my 16lb non shedding dog - I'm not even sure I remember what it's like to deal with dog hair (until I dogsit and have to clean my car out and then remember how much I don't want to deal with hair again!) lol

But I think a Golden is back on my 'someday' list for sure.

Goldens will always be one of my favorite dog breeds. Whenever I meet one, I fall right back in love. They're just so stinkin' good!

Well I didn't have Golden fever until this thread... it appears to be contagious! My cousin had a golden when I was growing up and she was really sweet and smart. Maybe a Golden is in the cards after all.

OMG just met a Golden just like the first picture in my OP. A neighbor's friend brought him over. Now my want is just.... want now. lol. My dad said the same thing - now he wants a Golden again! lol.

One does not simply "get over" good retrievers ;)
Truer words have never been spoken.

I used to not really care for Goldens, bit I've met some freaking awesome Golden puppies lately. And some gorgeous adults. Which has made me look at a local breder with a bit more interest.

Every time I see a young, crazy Golden that's all over the place I'm pretty sure that I'm over them. And then every time I see a sweet senior Golden...I want one again.

My cousins had a Golden when I was growing up, and that dog was awesome - she was the reason that I will adopt a senior Golden someday.
This is exactly how I feel! There is nothing sweeter than an older golden and I fully intend to adopt one at some point.

I was never really huge on goldens, but ohmygosh I LOVE one of the goldens at my work. She's awesome, and I always get super happy when I see that she's coming into daycare on a given day.

Plus, they really are the cutest puppies (these are pics I took of my mum's boyfriend's golden back in the day). :p
