I think I'm allergic to my dog! Now what?

Wow! You sound like my mom. She started out allergic just to metals. Now it's: grass, perfumes, dyes, detergents, soap, her own sweat, iodine, salt, metals... etc etc. I really hope that you aren't allergic to her or that if you are it's just due to her seasonal shedding and that you can take her to a groomer or something to help her shed out better and faster so that you can keep her and not be entirely miserable. I have an allergy to cats and dogs. During shedding season I come up with rashes, itchy nose etc. I usually have my dog at the groomer's twice a month for a bath with a coal tar shampoo which seems to help since it curts down on the dander. If I feel too bad I have pills that I can take to help with breathing and itch . Not an option to not keep him since he's my SD. Even if he was just a pet I could never give him up any more than I could give up one of my kids. I think we just learn to live and cope with allergies.
