hey--it's forum life. Not everyone agrees ---one of the things I love about this place...you can have a disagreement in one thread, and then off to the next one--and it's a whole new game!
As for popularity--I don't even know how people are judging that! If you want to be known, post---if not, then lurk and read. It's up to you as to what you put into it. :)

(Yes, I am referring to a picture thread that was started..and some rumors that now I think any dog on a tether or a leash is an abused dog. It was EXTREMELY childish. And i guess I prefer to not be around childish people.
Oy vey. The thread is mine, for any who don't know. Punky, the back story is that people dissing all kinds of chaining - and even though you said it was only constant tethering, your actions proved otherwise, especially when you insisted that the important part was not that you made a snap judgment but that it turned out to be accurate - really push my buttons. We have one member on here, who is NOT YOU, who crawls out of whatever dark hole she lives in to post flame-fodder threads about how eeeeevil people who tether their dogs are, refuses to listen to reason, and generally pisses everyone off. Your posts pushed those buttons. I made a thread to vent about it and share the pics I kept telling Zoom I'd upload.

Hopefully she accepts my apology. And I honestly don't have any harsh feelings..and maybe someday I will come back to this forum, and not be called a cruel person.
I never called you a cruel person, and when you thought I was saying you were I explained that I was not. I did, and still do, think you were bullying Kayota.

(And since this forum is a popularity contest I am sure not too many people will even read this since I am not one those "known members".
I completely missed this thread all afternoon, but now I get why chat peeps were laughing at me and asking for popularity tips. ;)

Eh, I would just let it roll off your shoulders. Everyone has had an unpopular opinion at one point in time. No one hates you because you expressed your opinion in one thread... I'm sure of it.
I'm going to second this. I certainly don't hate you, although you definitely pushed my buttons.

I'm also going to second what everyone else said - everyone gets called out for the crap that they pull on here. It might be a very gentle reminder (especially if it's from Renee or Beep) or it might be pretty rude (like if it's from me, Charlie, Jess, or god forbid, Becca ;)). I've been politely and not-so-politely called out on my behavior on here many times (recently in fact) and while it's never fun, people always have a point and I find I learn more by listening to them than I do otherwise.

Fact is, we are all animal lovers. And when you hear about a situation that is not that favorable for a dog (I am not talking about the tethering, more about the not giving a **** if an animal suffers)... red lights go off, the flags come out and you know all what. I think we have all been there and overreacted a bit. I tend to either stay out of those or post when I am drunk (tend to care less and can focus on pretty things).

As for the popularity... who gives a ****? Just do your thing. You will meet some people you can connect with. If that is not the "main frame" so what? Who cares if your part of the chaz awards and mentioned in the "I love you" thread and whatever we have had here in the past.

I am usually never mentioned in any of them and neither is my dog... but I have fun here, I have made a few friends... maybe pissed some people off... but I am mainly having fun.

Wow what a dramatic plea for attention! Impressive.

Like Jules, I don't think I've ever shown up in any of those "I love you" threads, and I'm sure from time to time I've posted something totally frickin' stupid while I was drunk. But whatever. Who gives a crap?

Sweetheart, you may think that the poking fun and joking was very "high school", but this thread is even more so. The rest was an attempt at making something so horrific as lighthearted as it was originally intended to be.

You've got a lot more growing up to do and none of us here hate you for it. I know I don't dislike you. But I'm a jaded douchebag who used to have opinions like you do before I learned more about life, more about dogs, and more about what to keep to myself and what to blurt out. You'll grow, you'll learn, you just have to realize that along the way you'll meet people who've been there, done that, and who will happily call you out for it.

It can hurt the ego for a bit, but eventually you'll get over it. We all do.

Hey, it looks to me like you are doing fine. As far as i can tell, you made an erroneous judgement, and because of that said something you shouldn't. you then proceeded to apologize to the offended party one on one, and to everyone else in general. That seems like the good, kind and honorable thing to do, so like I said, in my book, you are doing fine.

And your doxies are cute.

Heck, the only reason I show up on those "I Love You" threads is because everyone fears to do otherwise. ;)

The lesson here is to not take stuff personally until someone goes "Hey Person! This is totally aimed you!" and then deal with it how you will.

^^^^ agreed

Roll with the punches.

those who disagree with you today will agree with you tomorrow.

I think Jessie and I are perfect examples LOL. We have DEFINITELY had our disagreements and even had our spats.

But lately we seem to be pretty much in agreement for the most part and the spats are over and we are even able to joke around together.

I think the things that make it "highschool" is the grudges. Have your disagreements (at some point in life you are going to disagree with everyone eventually) and then move on. If I were to leave everytime someone disagreed with me... LOL well then I would never have been here in the first place. Be TRUE in your convictions even if they aren't popular. Don't live your life trying to be popular. Live your life being WHO YOU ARE no matter what anyone else thinks.

forgive, forget and MOVE ON. :D

No one was going around the entire forum and calling you names. I disagreed with your actions in one thread, so in that thread I stated what I disagreed with.

Everyone gets reamed out once in a while. No one is going to agree with another person 100%. Unless your a complete jackass(which I in no way think you are), it all stays in the relevent thread.

I have absolutely no problems with you. I simply felt that you were bullying someone in a completely uncalled for way and I came to her defense in the appropriate thread. After that you posted a thread about a friend of yours, even though we were still in argument in the first thread, my posts in yours were not harsh, cruel, or name calling.

So, please do not feel that we were trying to make everyone hate you or anything. As it has been stated many times already, everyone gets called out at one point or another.

Exactly. Who cares if you're "popular" or not? I'd rather be myself instead of a fake person in order to conform to what everyone elses opinions are. I've seen almost every regular poster on here get in spat or disagree in a thread at one time or another. As for the people on here who you don't see getting into arguments- I'd bet that they open up the thread, disagree but don't want to argue, and then close the thread and walk away.

It's funny, Sparks, because I feel like I agree with you about a lot of things. Even when the moon isn't full :lol-sign:

I do agree that because people disagreed with your opinion doesent mean you airn't liked. I have been out of the loop lately but I have gone back to look at threads. And honestly I can understand where your coming from. But I also understand where the others are coming from too. There is anouther member here who has pounded into our brains how evil tethering is. So I guess some people are quick to defend themselves when someone else shares an opinion similar to that.

Sorry if none of that made sense im really tired lol.

I also agree and im sure I will be made fun of for this....But there is a popular group of people here. I am definately not in that group and really it doesent bother me. Its best to let the comments go. Kind of like chewbecca when I have an unpopular opinion sometimes I just ignore the thread after my opinion is given lol. I don't know if that made any sense either......Oh well I tried.

Anyways what it all boils down to......Don't leave just because things got heated. Most people in this group are happy to move on :).

No..I was being an idiot..but NOT when I was defending myself..I completely stick with the comments I made to the people who were crushing my character..but I was being an idiot and judging a young member..it was NOT her fault, and I didn't need to judge right away..Even if I did disagree with the treatment, i should have kept my mouth shut..But again, sometimes its hard..and I am sure a lot of people can relate.

It is good to hear that I am not alone, and a lot of the "known members" have been through the same thing.

maybe I will stick around. Hey, why ruin my fun just because a few people don't like me? lol
I hope you will stay. :)

I find it fairly childish that you're getting so worked up over this.

I got a little angry, sure. But I don't hold a grudge against you. People make mistakes.

haha me too.... errr... drunky dranky= funn stupid thread

Let it roll girl... just let it roll. Everyone has pretty much said what I would have so I don't need to write a big ol' paragraph saying the same thing that's been said... but just let it roll... suck it up. stand up and keep doing what you do. I wasn't really paying too much attention those threads. I try and stay out of the fire when I can so I don't know the entirety of this situation. But... people aren't always going to agree and that's just a fact of life. You just need to stand up, wipe your tears away and keep doing what you do. Who cares about being popular seriously? This isn't a contest. This is a place where dog people can come together and have fun, share photos, tell stories and help each other out with advice, knowledge, etc etc. If you don't feel like you fit in with the people you deem the popular ones then who honestly cares? There are so many people on this board and so many different groups of people that tend to be closer to each other etc etc... but at the end of the day... we're still Chazhound. We're still one big group of doggy loving people... we're still one family.

I know I don't :D Hell, if I cared about being popular (or even being people's friends!) I wouldn't post most of the things that I do. Still, you don't see me making a thread about being hurt and running away.

I'm pretty sure that I'm not 'popular' by any means... although most people here do probably know who I am.

Welcome to the real world. Not everyone agrees with each other all the time and not everybody likes everybody else. Honestly if you leave because of something like that, I don't think that you would be leaving with your dignity intact. I think that would neuter your dignity. :rofl1: ( Sorry I couldn't resist the pun.)

I've been a member on a forum that everybody knows each other and are all pretty much friends. Do you know how freakin BORING that forum is now? Seriously there are only 3 or 4 posts a DAY because there is nothing left to talk about. Everybody who had differing opinions left.
