Do you mean Pedigree Chum? If you've read the ingredients list then you'll see, its not good, they add colouring to the food to make it brown!! Especially the treats they make, full of sugar and crap. I believe Pedigree only has 4% meat deritives. Does that sound good to you? Have a look at Mordy's website, she explains how you can learn to find out which dog foods are good, by reading and understanding the ingredients list. I think her website is great, I spent ages looking in my petshop for a suitable dog food, after visiting her website, because at the end of the day, I only want to feed shadow food that is the best and good for her.

Check out this product wizard on the Natura site. This will give you an idea of what the products really are. Pedigree is cheap and unhealthy.

http://www.naturapet.com/display.php?d=ingr-wiz

Example: in Pedigree there is MEAT AND BONE MEAL (NATURAL SOURCE OF CALCIUM) - Meat Meal or Meat & Bone Meal is the rendered product from mammal tissues, with or without bone, exclusive of any added blood, hair, hoof, horn, hide trimmings, manure, stomach and rumen contents except in such amounts as may occur unavoidably in good processing practices.

Most people associate this ingredient with beef. The truth is that it can come from any mammal: pigs, goats, horses, rabbits, rendered animals from shelters, and dead animals found on roads. Meat meal can contain condemned parts and animals that are rejected for human consumption, including '4D' animals: dead, diseased, dying, or disabled. It can include pus, cancerous tissue, and decomposed (spoiled) tissue. This inexpensive ingredient found in many commercial pet foods cannot be considered part of a safe, healthy diet for pets.

Pretty scary what goes into pedigree, I would never feed it to any of my dogs. Road kill I found on the side of the road I would consider before I would consider Pedigree :D

They may not care....they may even like eating junk....but it's not good for them. Just because a kid doesn't complain about eating only Pop-Tarts, potato chips and Coca-Cola his whole life doesn't mean it's good for him.

The scary thing is that in foods like Pedigree, there's just a bunch of roadkill, animals that die in the field, and dead pets. I highly recommend the book Food Pets Die For by Ann N. Martin.

I used to feed Pedigree before I found this site. Misha has become leaner, fitter and has more energy. (just don't mention her teeth! ) We can't get the best foods here, but it does make a difference to change from that junk.

Oh posh it not good for them. I have a 13+ year old dachie that has eaten IAMS since she was 2, and guess what? Still kicken. Guess what? No food related problems. Guess what? Shes Healthy. Iv seen no evidence its bad for them, especially after my dachie has eaten it so long and been fine. Iv heard you all say, ITS BAD! ITS JUNK! DONT FEED DOGS THAT! Well give me proof that its bad for dogs, that will overrule my proof of 5 healthy dogs that eat IAMS, 3 getting on in years but fine.

Yes, I know of that, but give me proof the food is bad. Dont give me the ingredients, because my dogz thrive on them.

To tell you the truth, I don't care if you give your dogs bad food or good food. It's your desicion and not mine. It effects your dogs and not mine. But how can you not care that the food you feed your dogs is by people who hurt animals? I don't understand how an animal lover can promote that?

Because if I dont, what will I feed them? Another food everyone here considers crap. The videos are sad and convincing, but I truly despise PETA. I dont promote it. I dont go around cheering IAMS. If I fed my dogs somthing else, IAMS wouldnt know. Its a sucsessful company, and no matter what anyone says, one person cant make a diffrent in this situation. Its oviously be tried many times already, and failed miserably. I know its wrong of IAMS, but it really doesnt matter if I feed my dogs it or not, because no one else is gonna feed it to there dogs cause of me.
