I brought Addie in to see Hammie........YIKES, problems. She isn't the least bit interested in being 'pals'.OH.....HELP...what do I do to reintroduce them to each other??? Or......should I just step aside and let them be? For Heavens sake.......it's only been 3 days.....IS THIS NORMAL???? It is a REAL problem. Addie is NOT interested in being pals.........Hammie is tooooooo interested...........I'm NUTS already...........IDEAS????? THOUGHTS??? I've let them frolic about.........jumped in between when there has been the need. They've always been such friends................IS THIS NORMAL???? Should I just let them 'work' it out, not allowing any harm?????? I NEED HELP HERE.

In case you didn't understand........they are NOT getting along. It is so sudden. Prior to Hammie's surgery...they were good friends. He has been home and only 3 days have passed. CERTAINLY she couldn't have forgotten about him in that short period of time. He is just so excited to see her again.........SHE isn't having ANY of it. WHAT CAN I DO????? thanks........................... :(

What's she doing to him?

You might have to let him heal up before you allow them to be off the leash around each other, just to be safe in case he decides to get too energetic. In the meantime, put both of them on the leash and let them sit with you, making them have good manners.

I told you she'd be getting jealous . . . :D Poor Debi. They can be manipulative little brats sometimes. She hasn't forgotten him - quite the contrary! Addie's going to make Hammie and you pay for all the attention he's gotten, and she's going to make him - and you - really pay when he tries to come back into HER pen! And she's going to make him sorry for neglecting her for the last few days.

LOL........Renee.......I think you've got it nailed. Those kids..........geez.

seems exactly right. Now, I am paying massive attentiion to Addie..oh, I truly adore her. SHE does rule, tho...........IF she will allow Ham..it will be on her terms, slowly reintroduced.

I need something........I'm thinking a toddy..usually I want this by the fire on a cold night..............I WANT IT NOW! lol

Well..I never had the toddy......maybe I should have. lol I was so upset cause what I failed to mention is, Addie wasn't hurting Ham....so no worry about him due to surgery.....she would get mad if he so much as moved ..when he was across the room!!! She was being a real wench. She acted like she didn't even know him. I think I thought she'd sort of understand he wasn't feeling well....and maybe 'mother' him. HA! Sometimes I just have very silly ideas. lol I panic because my friend is having huge problems with her 2 dogs, both female, that have decided they positively HATE each other. They are not spayed, which I am thinking has something to do with it?? Someone told her they will fight to the death if one or both are in heat??? She found out the hard way by breaking up a fight that cost her major $$$ at the vet. She has them separated, but it is becoming a big expense to build another large fenced area, etc. (don't know why they aren't spayed...I've been trying to get her to do that, but I think she wants puppies) Dave walked Ham down to the pen for a supervised 'visit' after they were indoors together. Addie is so possessive about the pen being 'her' area.....I'm worried she won't let him back to easily. Dave always tells me to relax........can you tell I get hyper easily???? LOL LOL I just don't want any worries about fighting. They are supposed to be buddies so they can keep each other company if I have to go out. I would REALLY be upset if one of them got hurt. Going to do the same routine today...bring Addie in, fuss over her alot.......supervise them together......maybe after a few days they'll be back to before. You know, sometimes they're worse than badly behaved children!! lol
