I can't imagine how you live in this world and function still, if SS's comments are that offensive to you. Guys are generally bunt and crude.

I know A LOT of men and boys, the majority of my friends have always been male, and I have NEVER heard a single one of them speak to me or anyone else the way SS speaks to people on here. Quite frankly, the people I HAVE heard speak like that in real life have ended up handcuffed for harassment pretty quickly.

And I survive just find in the real world by telling people who speak to me the way SS speaks to most people that they're completely out of line and I have no interest in their opinion if they're going to put it across by ridiculing other people. I sincerely feel REALLY REALLY badly for anyone who allows people in their real life to treat them the way SS (and a lot of others) treat people on this forum.

That said I'm not suggesting the OP feed the rats to a snake, I think they belong with a qualified rescue who has a network, a bank account, and a vet acct.

No I haven't asked any rescues for financial assistance what so ever, just for help finding them homes which they have been great about, Listing them on their websites, taking some in, etc., but they have done all they can do.

Honestly... it makes me sad that SS was banned. Sure, he's made a few douchey comments to me. But he's real, and well informed, and he's A DUDE! I agree with mainly the guys being blunt statement. I can name a few in my life that would have already been banned lol Including my dad, ex Michael, friend emilio, my best friend's boyfriend, my best guy friend Ryan who is a Marine. So yea.

But about SS, do I think he was a bit rude? Absolutely. Do I think he should of been ban? No. Hell I've said rude stuff to people on here and been down right mean a couple of times but hey i haven't been ban. This goes for a bunch of other chazzers.
But if what SS said to the OP (which I do like her, we have talked a lot over the yrs and I have no hard feelings towards her but I do think 40+ rats is a bit much but hey, I don't know jack about rats cause I don't like them) that much, she should of expressed her concerns to the mods and had a time out for 24 hrs, *maybe*, but til April? That's a bit much cause I've seen people be just as rude, if not more rude than SS.
But its over and done with, I guess.

I don't think ihartgonzo was saying she LETS men talk to her like that, and neither do I.
I think she, as was I, was just saying that she knows of ppl who are that honest and can be blunt and people take it at rudeness.

There's a difference between being blunt because you believe in something vs. being an asshat because you want to make other people feel like crap.
Frankly, some of the comments SS made seemed pretty low-blow. I don't see that as being real or honest. Plus, there is a way to be honest without being an ass. I have lots of friends, yes, including guys, who are pretty good at it.

No one necessarily "suggested" being a prostitute. Someone working as a prostitute posted about their current position and asked for advice, and some people (myself included) gave advice for the situation instead of telling the person they needed to seek help.

Is that really how you see that situation? A mentally disturbed individual who just got out of a psych ward decided to take up prostitution to make money rather than stay at a shelter. This individual told everyone the location, time and price she would be charging and was encouraged rather than discouraged from doing it.

This was a totally other thread, and if you want to know my opinion on that issue, you can see it very clearly in said other thread.

I did not see the OP in that thread encouraged to sell her body, anywhere. People told her it was her personal decision, and that they understood strangers on the internet telling her it was a bad decision was probably not going to change her reaction to very, very desperate situation. Just as I don't see how anyone in this thread is encouraging this OP to continue what she's doing, I don't see how saying "this is a very dangerous endeavor but here are some tips to stay safe and some ways to get out of this situation" is ENCOURAGING prostitution.

I'm a "dude" and have pretty thick skin. And not that it's anyone's business, but I was the moderator who contacted the others after reading through the thread and said, "I think this guy needs a time out." We discussed it, decided on what to do and did it. I hope there is no hard feelings and that he will come back when his timeout is over (which is 90 days - not "four months" as some have stated).

I have no personal preferences one way or the other about the OP. The banning had nothing to do with a favorite or vendetta.

I'm not in a position to donate but maybe others would feel better donating directly to 501c3 rescue if it was to get the rats from PitBull to that rescue.

You may even get more donations if they are directly to your vet. Personally I'm not big on donating directly to individuals.

Or, now that some resources for transport have been posted, maybe try contacting further rescues and see if they have openings and could get some ratties transported there? I'm sure even without other forums, if you found an out-of-state rescue that could take multiple rats, chazzers would step up and do transport.

I'm going to get started on this tomorrow. I'm exhausted tonight and need to get some sleep and get my head straight...does anybody have suggestions about rescues in your area, willing to help with transportation, etc.? Whoever posted about the Mass. rescue...can you please post it again, I can't seem to find it in the 19 pages LOL.

Okay, anyone interested in donating but not directly to my account... please PM me and ask for the information of the vet, or if you are interested in donating to get the rats somewhere else, please PM me for the information of the lady that has taken quite a few already and I e-mailed her and she is more than happy to take more when her flooding situation gets all sorted out and they are able to get back settled into their house in the next few weeks.

Nope. 90 days. Essentially 3 months.
January 6 to February 5 = 30 days
February 5 to March 7 = 30 days
March 7 to April 6 = 30 days.

30 + 30 + 30 = 90.

No, I'm not going to give the rats to an animal shelter or a humane society. I only want to work with rescues that specialize in rats and know about what kind of care they need.
