yes I know... I should have known... but I didn't.

I always just thought they were dried tendons..... and seeing as has how I never actually bought them before.... it just never clicked.

Well, at my training facility they sell stuff...collars, leads, training aids, treats... bully sticks.... Muffin was sniffing the box of the bully sticks, so I was like, "oh you want one, ok we'll get you one." Turns out he really likes them.... so I buy a big bag of 24 from the feed store....

    then I read the "ingredients"

    .....
    .......
    ..........
    ............
    ..............
    ................
    ...................
    .....................

:yikes: :yikes: steer pizzle :yikes: :yikes:

If you want tendons, you need to buy the treats that are called "tendon", not the ones called "bully sticks". :rofl1: :p

    Xpaeanx,

You are not the only one in the dark. I not only am unenlightened about what bully sticks are. I thought they must be raw hide. But I have an additional missing link here.

    What is steer pizzle? :rofl1:

I think it's hilarious and enjoy telling people what it is, lol.

When I told the guy I was dating what a bully stick was, he said, "Wait, I thought Bailey was a boy?!?!?!" :yikes: I can see why guys find it less humorous than I, I admit.

So, are these not apt to cause a blockage, like with raw hide? Are they perfectly safe? I am really getting excited about the prospect of buying some bully sticks.:p Are they expensive? My poor dogs only get Nyla bones and Kongs, which they don't like unless there's food inside. I did give them a little raw turkey neck yesterday and Toker threw up in the middle of the night and Jose` had messy poo poos. They need something fun to chew on.

Okay...so I looked it up...how they are processed! So, they don't come from a steer. They make a bull into a steer. :( How sad is that!
