The past few days have sucked, big time... Lost one of our cats, Bill Bailey, to cancer last Friday, he was around sixteen. This past Friday, Allegro, our three-legged cat, had a seizure and could no longer control his one remaining hind leg, or his bladder. He was seventeen and our 'talker', and there was nothing the vet could do. It's really quiet around the house now.
The car, which we've already spent $2500 on for repairs in the past couple of months, is in the shop again - we think it's the oil pump. and possibly the timing belt.
Lord, I hope February is better...

Thanks... It's just so quiet, Allegro talked, complained and sang all the time. He'd start talking as soon as we walked in the door. He liked to sit at the top of the stairs after dinner and warble as loud as he could (and EVERY time I tried to record him, he'd stop singing). We always knew where he was in the house because he'd talk to himself as he hopped along, and heaven help the person who walked into the kitchen and didn't feed him.

Bill was quiet, but ruled the house with an iron paw. A glance would usually send the other cats scrambling. His favorite position was perched on the arm of my sister's chair, leaning his forehead against her upper arm. He'd sometimes fall asleep that way. He was a feral rescue so he tended to be skittish - visitors never saw him, and while he'd sit in our laps once in awhile, he'd panic and run if you tried to pick him up or if he thought we were paying undue attention to him.

Sigh... Oh, did I mention our furnace went out 2 weeks ago on the coldest night of the year? The only good thing was the repair guy was able to come out the next day and the water pipes didn't freeze.

I am so sorry. There has been such hardship and loss for so many since this year began. I wish it wasn't so for you. (((((HUGS)))))

Bill Bailey sounds a great deal in personality like Ressie. I am sorry for his cancer struggle but glad he had such good years with such good people.
