Huck is over here playing with her REI bag. She got stuck for a second in one of the twine loops and did this amazing mid air barrel roll across the living room, still inside the sack. It's now torn but apparently that just makes it better. I'll get her a new one and see if she likes it just the same or what.

IN take breath. Breathe. Nothing broke, telling myself.

I just found Ressie on the top shelf in my bedroom where I store all the work I don't want him to break. Pieces I hope to hand down to my grown children, or grans if the day doesn't come that I have to trade them to get by. Somehow he went up one bookcase of loaded shelves, across the top where my really best pieces are, jumped to the top of another shelf, and then up a couple feet to the tallest one where the shelves are full of hundreds of hours and years and years of work. He did it, without hardly disturbing the dust.

My heart is still beating hard.

Sack kitten, avalanche kitten, kitten that thinks only the water in my drinking cup is for him, gets away with MURDER that no one else gets away with (and that does not go unnoticed) almost made me cry.

ONe thing about painting rocks, they didn't' break.
Paper on the other hand, why can't I love paper, like I love the feel of clay being worked in my hands. Paper almost scares me now, it's like going on the longest hardest hike and knowing it will be all uphill. That's vision loss however, but but but...things that break, and white puma on the prowl, are a bad combo.

Hyia asked me where he groundhog teapot and groundhogs are. I told her in a styrofoam box, wrapped in bubble wrap on the to shelf of the closet, with the door shut. She said "that's good".

Brushes can't be put in cups either, but must be layed flat, or he thinks that expensive weasel hair belongs to him. Will have to think if he thinks synthetic is just as tempting.

Have had to switch to rinsing out brushes in water from a cup to a bottle because he thinks he should drink out of that too. After he tastes my water.

He's naughty. Speak of the devil.....WE need spring, his harness and outside time. He is soooo good if he even has a half hour of change of scene.

Wow, that could have gone horribly wrong.
We had some excitement here today ...Zoey has mastered opening cabinets. She got in the one under the kitchen sink and found a sticky trap for flies.
Glue all over her fur! I gave my first kitty bath (James has done all the others) .I was afraid of what the glue would do to her if she picked it. Bath in the kitchen sink, it was only her 2nd one. Not too bad at all, she was pretty calm. Each time she got nervous I'd get her scruff and she calmed right back down. Now we must find some cabinet locks!

Glue traps are evil. THe last live thing I tried to get off of my spider trap was a lovely lovely little snake, after getting half of him free, it all went bad, and I had no choice but to end it. I was horrified.

Hyia's learning to close the cabinets, close the closets. We use the dishwashe ras a big dish rack because ti doens't work and she tends to leave it a couple inches open, and when Ressie tries to climb in there, it tips over. Does that stop him? no. She did tell me how he got his sack out of the trash can. SHe saw it. He jumped from the counter INTO the trash can and according to her, rock rock rock tip. Where he grabbed it and ran out of the room. He is a paper thief, right now he is working on the cardboard box to my new clay.

IN praise of Sancho, I wish I could have reached the camera last night. Ressie pounced on hm and bowled him over. He wrapped his big ol arms around Ressie's neck. Ressie go a little ruff, Sancho pulled him closer and lick one ear, lick his face, lick the top of his head, let go a little, and they went back to a gentler play of I tap you on the head, you tap me on the head. Then they ran from room to room, and finally walked side by side almost touching to the water dish. I cannot say enough good about SAncho. Playing with Ressie is not like playing with any other cat I ever had and I know exactly who to thank. FOrtunately since being neutered, he has pretty much dropped the scalping us game. I sat an told Sancho I never knew he woudl be such a good daddy, such a good teacher, and such a good friend. He has shown tenderness and I have never seen him lose his temper, no matter how rowdy his baby gets. I never had a cat like him before and truly feel blessed that he is a part of our family. Hyia talks about wanting to foster next spring. I can be on board with that, but there are a few things I will do differently, starting with not taking home 5. a couple will do. I also will not take them back and forth to Zona Rosa because I won't want to bring home the ear mites and such those were exposed to and brought home. Finally I will leave the adopting up to them, for I paid to have the CAre bus take one, and the gas to meet them across town among many other minor expenses/ It just adds up.. I can give them my time and attention, but I put way too much money into them that I should not have done. I seriously doubt that spring will find us any better off then right now. Now our inn is permanently seriously filled. THat will have to go down too. EVen Hyia knows that without question. I don't' regret wanting Ressie by any means, he is the smile in a day for me when i am at my limits of stress, and I know thanks to GG his being here is possible. Hyia really enjoyed all of the fostering experience and I do believe she did a great job socializing and learned some skills at caring for babies. It will always be a positive memory for her, when not a whole lot was positive at all. I am glad she is looking forward to it.

So here's a huggy good night. We will see you all tomorrow.

sack cat found new sack..it is Sancho meowing because he want to eat, not watch us watch Ressie. I had been at Hyia's school for a meeting so I have no idea how long he was like this, but he certainly wasnt' upset about it and it didn't stop him from sticking his head right back in it. He is at the very least a comic relief for a disastrous day.

Huck still needs to get in and get spayed.

Last night, she and Sawyer were taking turns chasing each other around and around the living room, then she'd jump in her new huge DSW sack and attack his legs as he walked by.

TWo things that de nerve my blind dog to no end. Kittens jumping out at him, and bubblewrap that fell to the floor. I make sure to replace Ressie's pouncing sack to the same part of the living room, and not let it be in any doorways. STicking his head in my clay bowls is one thing, but I worry that one day he will stick his head in something that will get him in trouble. He has done so twice, but I was right there both times.

I am glad Sawyer and Huckette are playing. That was a relationship made from the get go. Does she still play with his fluffy pirate pants?

I wouldn't wait too much longer, a female cat can get awful determined to get out when in heat and besides they are so obnoxious, as I sure you are more than well enough aware of at this point. I am really glad to be done with all that, all shots up to date, and the bowel issue is over once and for all.
YAY for that.

Ressie found a rag that I had used in a carrying case I use to take greenware to the guild. It was an old blanket from the playpen with the litter mates. Ressie rolled and rolled and purred and purred, and gave me the happiest face I ever saw on him when he found it. I thought I might put it in the upper level of the cardboard castle.

YO know we need more Huck pics and you could put them on here. I want more more more more more You know I do. It makes Hyia's day to see her. Columbus was her love from the very beginning and paid the most attention to her.

Aiden likes this video so I put it on here for him. Nana being scalped.

Last night Ressie was curled up in a ball on the hard cold floor. I don't know why. So I got the blanket came back, and ever so carefully, lightly as I could draped it over his back, when he didn't flee (he panics if anything is over his back ever since the "incident" with his siblings) and tucked it into a pillow under his chin. He stretched a little, curled his head in and slept soundly for a long time. When I was ready to go to bed I stopped by and stretched out on the floor beside him, not touching him, just close. He began to purr, and that got louder until it was fully a rumble for such a long time. So long, so sweet to listen to I almost fell asleep beside him on the cold hard floor. He has never slept with anyone except Sancho. Usually he chooses either behind a board, or in the cardboard castle top floor. Later that night he did come join us, was happily kneading away and purring again, but Victor had to choose that moment to stand up and turn around which blew the moment and Ressie departed. Maybe he will try again. At least for a few hours, he was completely at peace with his favorite blanket over, around and under him.

Great Grandmother saved a really good box for Ressie. I told her he would be pleased, and he is, he hasnt' gotten off out or away from it since it came in. Sancho is still waiting for a turn.
Ressie says I am king of all boxes.

He says SAncho can just go on waiting too.

Nope, you can't pay your way in, or talk your way in.

I wish this wans't so dark, sometimes Neccy can be so dang cute for an old woman.

Tomorrow I will cut some windows in it for him.
Sancho did un seat him with one spectacular tackle that knocked the whole box over but I missed it.

Super cute, have to love Sancho's patience. Zoey's very first box was a tissue box, never was quick enough with the camera to get it.

Boxhog

24 hrs later, still waiting.
SAncho says seriously "does not share nicely with others".

ONly little black rabbits can enter. I never know where he tucks them when he is done, I don't see them again, until I see him with one.

He has to come out sometime.

Last night SAncho finally bowled him over, box and all from the top in play. But Ressie shot right back in it, so it didn't get him entrance.

no one would ever call him fickle, no catnip mouse or feather will do.
I like that he loves his little black rabbit.
