Howdy yall! My name is Jairi Rai, owner of Ice Road Kennels. I live in a rural community in northern California, where me and my dogs live on our nine acre ranch.

We are very active in dog sports, though our ability to participate has lessened a little in the past year... We love agility, conformation, flyball, weight pull - and our newest addiction, lure coursing! I also love open field coursing (OFC) with my saluki. Speaking of my saluki... let me introduce you to the dogs that make up Ice Road Kennels! We don't do any breeding here at Ice Road... just competing!

In order of appearance...

Ice Road's Teal Sands of Sheeba CGC "Bindah"
American Pit Bull Terrier - 52 lbs

Ice Road's FlyinPurplePeopleEater "Spanky" Boston terrier (deaf)
(she is weird about the camera, so she doesn't get photographed often)

Ice Road's Asphalt Cowboy CGC TT TDInc SD "Ruger"
American Pit Bull Terrier - 40 lbs

Al Sayad 4Continents Ice Road to Anubis CGC (s) "Bukra"
Saluki

Azteca's Thundersnow "Jolene"
American Staffordshire Terrier - 37 lbs.

Ice Road's Another Perfect Lie "Lyric"
Australian Shepherd/Border Collie

Ice Road's Burnin' It Down "Polaris"
Pit Bull/Heeler

Bullseye de la Luna "Collin"
Fila Brasileiro

Ice Road's Nuit D'orage "Angus"
(breed? your guess is as good as mine!)

I didn't know I was limited to 10 photos per post until I tried to post this! That took some serious editing! I am known for my overload of photos lol

In addition to the dogs, I am an avid horsewoman and tarantula keeper. I love photography, reading, travelling, and - of course - all things dog! I look forward to getting to know more dog people here... and to see if there's anyone I already know from other forums!

Wow your dogs are gorgeous. Renee is going to squee when she sees your fila puppy I'm sure of it. That last one almost looks a little bit like my Cricket... maybe it's the brindling... Cricket is much bigger than the little brindle puppy in my signature, I totally need to update that. And your Saluki... omg... love! I absolutely LOVE sighthounds!

Welcome!

Thanks yall! :)

skittledoo - I was told there are some Fila people here.. one of the main reasons I joined! Do you know what mix your Cricket is? I am normally really good at giving a decent list of breeds that go into a mix... but with Angus, he's such a weird dog it's hard to tell!

Adrianne - Lyric I could understand... she doesn't make an appearance as often. But Polaris?! lol granted, he doesn't look ANYTHING like he used to... but I've posted him a lot :)

I have no idea what Cricket is honestly. sorry. I really think she might have a little bit of a sighthound breed in her (maybe whippet?) and maybe some malinois or dutchie. She's a mexican street dog rescue so she could have any number of breeds in her. I like to call her my Mexican Brindled Teacup Maligator, lol. I don't know what breeds in Mexico tend to be more predominant and with the street dogs they usually tend to be so mixed up as far as breeds are concerned that the result is a total "whatchamacallit" I'd really like to see some more pics of Angus if you have more. From the side profile you posted of him I really do see a similar resemblance. How big is he? Cricket is about 19.5 inches at the shoulder and about 25lbs.

Here's a couple pictures of Cricket now for comparison since my siggie is outdated.

hey Teal, Nice dogs. I am familiar with de la luna's filas. I like her present litter with sae as the sire. I recently had a litter using his brother Unifila serras de minas sepe and Arena de itanhandu (2010 USA CAFIB champion). love the black mask on your pup.

Thanks yall! :)

skittledoo - I do have plenty more pictures of Angus, but I am tremendously behind on editing! It happens a lot.. I take anywhere from 700-1,000 pictures a day o_O but Angus is much larger than your girl... he's probably 22" (I think he's taller than my APBT bitch, at least.. and she's that tall) and weighs 65-ish pounds. I'm really bad at estimating, and he's never been to the vet lol I'm sure Angus is just as much a mutt-of-a-mutt!

Renee - Everyone asks me how I came upon such a combination of breeds... I see now I'm not the only one! I joke, and tell people I got the Fila to protect my APBTs from getting stolen... undying human friendly creatures that they are! lol

FilaArena - My boy is out of their current litter... Out of IABCA Ntl./Intl. BA JU.A JA Unifila Serras De Minas Sae "Savage", by ARBA Master CH./IABCA Ehren CH. Gold Jacy Guardiaes do Caracu CGC "Juicy" :) I need to do some more research on the "CAFIB" difference... I can't seem to find what I'm looking for on it.
