A friend of mine on Face book has a White Swiss Shepherd that is chasing and killing Sheep. She lives in Europe if I remember correctly. Anyway the dog doing it is a young male. Just over or under a year. She is looking for suggestions on how to stop her dog from doing this. Since I have never had this issue I have no idea where to begin other then to tell her to confine her dogs or keep them leashed. I don't know much of the details surrounding it. She just commented on a post I put up of my girls and made the statement that she basically needed help with teaching her dog to not kill sheep. So I thought I would ask you guys to see if you have any tips.

How is this dog in a position to chase and kill sheep? This is mostly a management issue really. Around here if my dog gets loose and is worrying livestock, he gets shot. That's not something I'm willing to risk a confirmed killer to training. All 3 of mine will kill prey in a minute. Therefore they are either with me where I can recall them, or they are confined to the house.

I have asked for more details but this is all I have to go on right now:
"the young male has playfully strangled three sheep and he even started eating the last one. Add two rabbits to that."
So it is pretty serious. She lives in Uganda. So I have no idea how easy it is to get a trainer in the area she is in. But I can see why this would be a two person job at this point.

The thing is I am unsure if the dogs are inside dogs, outside only dogs, or inside/outside dogs. I also don't know if these were her sheep the dog killed or a neighbours or if it happened out on a walk or if the dogs was alone. I also don't know if she lives on a farm or near one or in a town or such. When I get more info I will let you know. I did ask if she has the ability to keep the dog confined to the yard when away.
