I was just wondering because Oakley doesnt seem to drink all that much. He usually only drinks after we come back from a walk...he doesnt even go through a bowl of water a day...

We always have water available to him of course...just wondering if this is normal?

I usually go by the rule of one ounce per pound of weight. So, for example, a 30-35 pound dog should be drinking 4 cups of water a day. This is under perfect conditons though, not too cold, not too hot, no hard activity.
This doesnt apply to raw feeders though, thier dogs get most of thier water through the meat/veggies, which means for about every cup of meat/veggies, there is about 3/4 cup water.

i think it has to do with what they eat. i have canned and kibble that i swap off for yoshi. when she gets the canned she's never really that thirsty but when she gets the kibble she drinks a little more.... not a lot but a noticable difference
