My kelpie is allowed on everything, but only if given permission. She too will "sneak" up. She will put her front paw on and look at me in the cutest "give me a cuddle" face. Usually I let her get her two front paws up so i can give her a cuddle, but petting stops if one of those back ones inches up. She also sleeps in my bed at night, but only if she stays at my feet. Azlan doesn't like couches (or the bed). In fact he doesn't like anything soft at all. He sleeps on the tiles on my floor (even in winter).

Before I had a dog, I swore that it would never get on the furniture....now...... ;)

Jake and I often have *discussions* over the coveted corner of the couch!

Around here our dog sees it as a "use it or lose it" thing. You get up and leave the room, he swipes your seat. When you come back he'll relinquish it very readily, with that "Hehehe..... was just keeping your spot warm for you" grin. The couch is a leather sectional, so he's got his own spot, with his own pillows, where he likes to sit and watch Animal Planet with us.

Easier for me anyway, he's a small dog and some days I just can't get down to his level.

I keep a contured bottom sheet ( ala Manchester ) on one of my futons so Chip can guard the house for me....faces the picture window and the street. It's almost the shade of the futons and blends in well. He doesn't get up on the other one , but my grand-dogs do when he's hogging " His" . He'll only get on my bed when invited, but gets too hot. Prefers the wood floor, but ends up in his own bed beside mine by morning. He'll only get up on the guest bed when EliN sleeps over with Hunter.

No, they stay on beautifully !!! Only problems is getting the higher quality with the color I like....I've only had 2...1st one was cheap and had holes ( Rudy) 1st visit. Have had this set for over 2 years.... look band new ! Spent more than for my own sheets though !! It's hard to find bottom fitted sheets without buying a set.

I use a queen size fitted sheet to cover my couch. More for the kids then the dog. Messy toddlers, but it works extremely well and easily washed.

At Dan's the dogs are allowed on the couch no problem, but not at my parents. But, I let the dogs on my bed at my place and that's a big no-no at Dan's.

Shadows allowed on the furniture, but only when I call her up. She knows not to jump up with me saying first. If she wants to come up on the sofa, she'll look at sit at my feet and look and me, I'll say "Up" and she'll jump onto the sofa. I love cuddling with shadow on the sofa in front of the tv. Best feeling in the world.

Dakota is the same way as Azlan about soft beds/furniture. I bought him the nicest, most comfortable (and expensive!) dog bed and put it in his crate. I got up in the morning, to find him laying on the hard plastic bottom of the crate, twisting his body like a freak to avoid laying in the bed.. Dakota rarely even likes to sleep on carpet, it's always tile.

Mine arent allowed on the furniture at all. They have their beds and pillows. With Izzy shedding now I have puppy fur all over the place and try to keep it all in one area. I get on the ground with them and cuddle with em

None of the dogs here are allowed up on the furniture, but sometimes (as long as no one else is home lol) I'll put up and blanket on the couch and invite Lucas up. None of the other dogs cause they don't understand how to get up and lay just on the blanket. Other than that Lucas is allowed up on my bed as long as I invite him, which I always do lol. :p

At my house, Punk is allowed on my lap when I'm sitting at the computer. I don't have a couch (or really another chair that I sit in very often). At the boyfriend's house, there's a vinyl recliner that he's allowed in. Other than that he has to hang out on the floor or in his bed. I do get down in the floor with him for a bit of a cuddle at times.
