I don't mean the EXACT spot where you were born :lol-sign: Distance from your home town will suffice, LOL

I was reading that a bit more than half of all Americans live within 50 miles of their home town (or birth place) No matter if they've moved around before settling in, as 'settled' adults, they end up close to 'home'

So, how about you? Need not be American to reply.......I'm interested in how other countries stack up to these stats too :)

*poll coming*

Yep. Within twenty five miles. We plan on moving out of state and purchasing a house in Florida, but not until my mother is gone.

I forgot to answer!

I live within the 50 miles (it's around 40-45, never really mapped it!) of my home town. Close enough to visit, far enough away to be removed from drama ;)

I was born in Durham, NC and spent most of my childhood in NJ. I now live in Pembroke, MA. I have basically moving north up Interstate 95 for my whole life! :)

Now it's time to figure out how to start moving back toward the south.....

I'm raising my family in the home my parents bought when I was 9 turning 10.

House that? lol

1562 miles :D
Born & Raised in Miami and could not wait to get out of there. I do LIKE the city..the beach, nightlife, cultural melting pot and everything is great for vacationing and such perhaps.. but I knew I would never settle down there for work/school. I never considered the south to be somewhere I wanted to live at all lol ..so I knew moving up North was something I was going to do. Moved to Connecticut, which I loved.. Graduated and visited Boston and fell in love with the city.

and am thinking either of doing grad school in the UK or California.. but for now, I'm very happy in Boston and happy with the distance away from my hometown.

Doubt I will return "home" as an adult.. Miami isn't my favorite city and I CERTAINLY wouldn't want to live in Florida anywhere else (City girl. Always lol)
Plus, it's just too hot lol

well my home town doesn't have a hospital so obviously I wasn't born here but I was brought back home a couple days after I was born. I used to live about 3 miles further from my home town and we moved about 20 years ago and got 3 miles closer to it. It's a pretty rural area. Think cows, fields, corn, cows, sheep, more cows.

I still live in the town I was born in. ;) Although I grew up in Nevada, but my dad got a better job offer here so that's why we moved back.

I live 430 miles from my home town. :) However, I do live in the town I graduated high school from though. And a lot of my family lives here. But the town I spent the first near 17 years of my life in is 430 miles away according to mapquest.

roughly 1,568-1,655 miles from my birth place.
about 1,800 miles from my "home town".

I got the heck out of there as soon as possible. But I still chose banana nut bread. Because I can eat banana nut bread for some reason, despite being allergic to bananas.

I live in White Rock, Bc and was born in the island in Victoria. According to google maps that 119km away and would take 3 hours to get to by car. I live super close to where i had briggs. 15-20 minute walk.
