Did the school know? Did the courts know? If they did then shame on them. If not I don't understand what everyone wanted them to do different. I know they threatened one of my friends with a day or so in jail but if their parents showed up to court they wouldn't get it.

I know it's not the same state but I know around here if you are under 18 you can't work after a certain time. You can be out later than the curfew but you can't be out all night and I know of businesses around here that have gotten in trouble for letting under 18 year olds work until 3/4am.

I was taking college classes my senior year. So I went to high school then right after I'd go to college for a couple classes and I had a fast food job that I worked until close at and then went home and did all of my homework, college and high school. So I get crazy schedules. I know my high school worked with me when I needed time off but I couldn't skip/not show up just because I was tired. We can call her a child but she's less than a year away from being considered an adult. Part of being an adult is learning your limits and it sucks this is how she is learning hers but maybe she'll get the help she needs with her younger sibling now.

There is something weird about this whole story. She's supporting a sibling going to A&M? She's living with her bosses, but working two jobs? My spidey senses are tingling, there's way more here than meets the eye.
