Hi to everyone! This looks like a great site!

I have 2 standard poodles. Farley is a 5 1/2 yo black and Chloe is a cream who will be 4 in Jan. We are very active in obedience training and both of them love it! Farley is definitely my goofball and Chloe is the princess of the house. Playing fetch & swimming are 2 of their favorite activities.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone & your furpals!

Hi, I'm new too! Welcome! Tell me, are standard poodles ultra smart like I hear they are? The ones I've known have been awesomely smart and I hear they're like #1 or #1 (next to border collies?) on the dog smart list!

Hi EliNHunter! Over the years I have had 2 great danes and a variety of "Heinz 57 varieties" and I have to say I have found my standard poodles to be very intelligent and the easiest ever to train. Of course that has also led to some things I'd have rather they not have learned how to do: how to open the bread box (while leaving it in the corner on the counter) to steal the bread; how to open the glass sliding door; open drawers to get out the squeeky toys where I have hidden them; and things of that nature that I never had to contend with with any of the others! But I will readily admit that I will never be without the companionship of at least one of these wonderful creatures!
